mbken: I'm not worried about the hurricane unless a ton of covid comes up from Florida and rains down on us
I only leave when it is a catagory 4 or more. Yes the power may go out for a while so good thing you cooked ahead.
My daughter has a house on the island which makes her basically on the beach. I live 15 minutes inland from the ocean. We evacuated when Florence was a 4. Two days after we evacuated power went out in the hotel so we didn't have a/c or a way to cook or buy prepared food so we went back home and didn't have power for almost two weeks. She and her husband and two dogs stayed in my house.

What an experience that was
Tough to make a decision where to evacuate because you just don't know where the storm is going. Your daughter lives in an area that has been slammed by hurricanes for the last few years. And you are close to her so it is nail biting time for you too. Having no power is the pits. Can't imagine going 2 weeks without it.
