The days have been getting a bit shorter now and cooling down a bit. The trees are beginning to either changing color or losing their leaves.
This year also was absent the monsoon season which comes around June and lasts until September. No complaining though.
Just wish we had a little rain to wake up the dry dessert here.

Weird, maybe it was already broken and then it shattered on its own... I've seen that happen.

Longer than that surely. Ralph married a Spanish lady. He had a very dry sense of humour. Political Pat still about but got kicked off C.S along with a few otherswink

Glass improperly fired can shatter suddenly. I saw a restaurant in England that everyone thought had a poltergeist. For years glasses and anything related would suddenly shatter for no reason. All the glass came from same factory.

If it shattered into many small pieces it must have been toughened glass which is a legal requirement for table tops anyway.
I've worked with glass, (mainly mirrored glass) for many years, including supplying glass table tops. Depending on the thickness, (10 mm required at least) they are very difficult to break.
I suspect there was some damage to the top which could lead to sudden failure, but that would normally come about in extreme changes in air temperature.
It could though be a manufacturing fault. Small particles of nickel-sulfide can get trapped in the manufacturing process, which can expand and caused the glass to shatter, but this would normally, not always happen in the toughening process.

How do you get on with your next door neighbours btw?...uh oh

That's a good question... maybe the neighbor snuck in late at night and did it. laugh I once had tempered glass over the Gorilla Glass-2 of my phone unit and the tempered glass also shattered for no reason leaving the phone screen perfect. So, anything is possible...even a stone hitting your table or someone doing it deliberately or if your table was previously chipped... you never know. I think Gal did it... I hope he has an alibi. conversing
