This is not my first rodeo regarding this. My spiritual relationship is personal (though for this forum I will talk about it a bit..), and it is unique to myself and the spiritual entity I bond with. I am not subject to the parameters some other Christians are so adamant about. Think about this: do you think God gives a gift of freedom only to punish us for using that gift? The notion of being able to “pray away the gay” is nonsense, and has damaged people to the point of some states outlawing those “change-a-roo” camps. Men and women have committed suicide over being frustrated with their orientation. People do not choose to be gay. God is not unfair. He is not going to be cruel to people just because they are who they are. Even if I were making a terrible mistake,(and I am NOT—this self-acceptance took a long, long time-) I’m covered because I accepted the salvation He offered and that gift is good for eternity. I don’t have to continually ask for what I already have. I appreciate that some/many might disagree, but this is MY life and there is not ONE person on earth who has any right of any assumption regarding it. Blessings—handshake

But it is sodomy. How can you love him and not honour him at the same time? Isn't that superficial love?

I mean if you really loved him you wouldn't be living that lifestyle. You would keep away from it and or pray to have the desire removed.

could be...first of all you made an assumption that I am living in sodomy. I’m not; I have no partner and I see no one intimately. And, this is not meant to be sarcastic, but it is a very fair question to a straight person who believes being gay is a sin. If you are straight, then you cannot possibly know about being gay, now can you? If I were to tell a straight guy friend that he could be gay if he wanted to, he would laugh and tell me he can’t be something he’s not. Same for gay people. It’s a two-way street, friend.

What in the world does love have to do with sex?

Straight people have sex. They aren't always in love with each other.
Gay people have sex. Nor are they always in love with each other.

Saying he should "keep away from it" is like telling a straight person never to lay down again with the opposite sex.

If you think prayer can remove the desire for two men to have sex then you probably also think that prayer will remove the desire for me to eat that ice cream that I've been wanting for months.
