Political correctness (17)

After reading the various threads concerning Blum, statue destructions, etc...does it occur to people that there’s just no end to the madness? Take the wonderful movie, “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”. Mickey Rooney plays Holly’s neighbor. His character is Asian. He’s wearing thick glasses, buck teeth, his eyes are made to appear slanted, his speech “slurred” to mimic what was accepted as language mispronunciation, etc...many other shows now in syndication do the same. “Get Smart”, “Gilligan’s Island”, etc...all have episodes of blatant fun-making of various cultures. Shall we just throw everything out?

D’yall know mah meanin? Jus ax me....

(Get the drift? Hey mods—don’t take this wrong. This is important commentary that rational people NEED to think about.)

I wish the internet would stop trying to “help” me. I wrote BLM, not “BLUM”. (Black lives matter...)

Yep, your country is falling apart at the seams..and to be honest I'm surprised it's held together this long....the pendulum seems to be swinging out of control so it's gonna take a while for things to settle down..but not (I hope ) before some atonement is made for decades of extreme injustice towards the most vulnerable and weakest of your society..usually African American/Black (or whatever label it is now..can't keep up with the changes)But there are also an awful lot of white Americans in just as dire a situation...and treated just as badly..That's the price of living in such a money driven country I suppose.....capitalism for the poor....socialism for the rich

I'd (once again) urge anyone who shares concerns with Rohaan to go back to 20th C History and to read carefully (so as to properly understand) two speeches given by President Dwight Eisenhower - His incoming address, and his out going farewell.

Eisenhower was a perhaps the last President who hand any say at all in the running of the USA, but he knew as he went into the job that he was facing the Might of the MIC ( more commonly known today as the MIPC (Military, Industrial, Pharmaceutical Complex)

The MIPC have 'bought out' and now have more or less total control of the US Education System - look at who sponsors Universities and Colleges and understand that no University Chanclellor ( a glorified mere administrator) will allow anything to impact his EARNINGS which are linked to the income of the institution.

'PEER REVIEW' of academic articles has 'lost its teeth' because there's no longer any 'strong minds casting a critical eye and challenging' the work of others any more. Rather now it's denigrated to a bunch of psychophantic 'YAY Sayers' who are paid to review positively and who simply admire the work put into front of them.

GENUINE RIGOROUS ACADEMIA has been dead for years !

But at 'lesser levels' it means that universities have been taking in just anyone - regardless of their academic prowess (or lack of it ) from kids who have themselves been brainwashed by inadequate teachers - themselves 'products of the system' (instead of actually being taught properly) that they are wonderful, that reading, writing and arithmetic aren't really important because it's more important that they 'express themselves' in an uninhibited manner. So, if you wanna spray graffiti on trains, subways, publicly paid for spaces ... heck you should do hat! And, if you;re angry and too dumb to express that in language (because you never were taught how) then sure, get out there and riot, destroy property, wreck the lives of other people ... and just collect your benefit cheque and some fax free dollars from the 'good people' who were handing out the money!

The 'C' in PC was NEVER EVER about anything other than CENSORSHIP ... you can say whatever you like so long as the PC people approved it!

The problem with BS is not that it's BS ... the problem is that people begin to rely upon multiple layers of previous BS as the foundation from which they make today's decisions. Politicians who have told so many lies that they have convinced themselves that their lies are actually true...

1. Yes, we are in some very challenging times. Could you please keep us in your thoughts and prayers? Most of us want good resolution. 2. Many of us are also surprised that it’s held together this long. We are optimistic in the very face of danger. Kind of makes us who we are...3. You are so right that it seems to be getting out of control. Many of us see this, but we are innocent. Pray for us. 4. Yes, there have been injustices. Not all of us are guilty. The atonement currently being asked will cost ME. I didn’t do it . That’s not fair. 5. “Whatever the label is now”...you said a mouthful! Tell me just what decade any “race” reference wasn’t vilified by SOMEBODY, SOMEWHERE...get it? Even terms the differing cultures SAY they want to be known by or called change with the season...anybody paying attention knows that. It’s not like many of us HAVEN’T tried, for PHUC’S sake. Have you ever tried to make someone happy who dances around, changing the terms constantly? THAT’S what we’re up against.

20% of your activities account for 80% of the results it's not actually that surprising for 8 out of 10 cats to fall behind. But a country can be familial in its business. When you give that job to your brother and when you save your baby over the life of a stranger's baby this is not money-driven, which is to say that people are not making it on merit but are making it in based upon their closeness to us.

And if there was a merit to family then it's the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. The relationship between you makes up for the fact that your brother is not literally the best plumber you could have employed at your firm.

But this flies in the face of the modern age which is to take the best workers and brains from around the world and put them in one country, a country where you get rid of everything that existed to unleash greater productive forces. Or so they thought. I contend that the fact nobody likes or trusts anybody anymore is bad for business family or otherwise. What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul? Not everything is about money, not everything in life can be reduced to a commodity. A group of more talented mercenaries may actually lose the fight to a family defending itself.

And I think that's the problem for the right. Family values on the one hand, moving thousands of miles away from parent's graves on the other. On your bike. Who we are as customers and consumers is one aspect of ourselves far from the whole story. It's a serious question to ask, what's the status of family going to be when that's the lengths individuals must go to find work?

political correct is a way of saying you accept everything from a minority that is inhumane, compelling, insensitive and criminal.

Huge PROBLEM: it leaves no room for independent thinking. I refuse to be restricted by someone else’s parameters...(go ahead and think what you want but don’t try to take away my right to do the same.)

I can't type for laughing here.....

Trust me Mikey, if I was interested in propogating propaganda, the last place I'd go is some obscure online dating site....

you all should watch the movie: Er ist wieder da. It's about Hitler waking up in 2014, and starts becoming popular again. Everyone thinks he's fake, and if he would go for Bundeskansler they would vote for him, for he says reasonable things, things the crowd wants to hear.

Challenging times indeed Rohann....I've been watching with interest for years now and I really feel for the moderate American who just wants to live in peace. Sadly there are many Americans who're very afraid and have been for a long time. One look at the multitude of ex pat forums and the very high prevalence of Americans on them trying to get out of the US is testimony to that....so I do feel for you, I can't imagine what it must be like to be surrounded with so many extremes and all of them at each others' throats...

No, by atonement I mean acknowledgement of wrongs done....generational wrongs done. Laws (or better still a proper constitution) need to be enacted to ensure future generations treat each other better than has happened in the past..And don't get me wrong, it's not just the US that owes their most vulnerable a debt of atonement, here in Ireland we have the mother's in mother and baby homes, the children in the care of the church/state who were horrendously abused....so it's not just the US that has history of abuse...Sure the UK must owe half the globe not just financial repatriation, but also one very serious apology for damage done...ditto the French, the Belgans, the Spanish....so it's not just the US...

People need to stop fighting and start talking to each other, listening, and trying to make things better for everyone, not just protect their own interests...a little give and take goes an awful long way..
