Yehhhhh
That post is somewhat out of date as it was written in January.
Covid-19 has completely sunk the chances of a swift EU trade deal The current pandemic that is so damaging on a global scale, has made all talks increasingly irrelevant.

Get up to date old timer and less of the insults. You act like a petulant child as always when someone dares to question your posts.
Your post was from January we are now in July.
Brexit talks break up early as negotiators admit big splits remain as deadline looms. Serious disagreements remain as the clock ticks down to the deadline for a Brexit trade deal - and the deadline to extend the transition period passed.

By the way I voted to leave but I didn't vote to leave without a deal

What ever happens it's certainly going to be interesting. I imagine it's going to hurt a lot of ordinary people too. e.g. small businesses, the agri and tourism sectors, not to mention Scotland and N.Ireland not being too happy about being dragged out of the EU....England could well find itself increasingly isolated as the years progress...
Whatever happens it's not going to hurt the wealthiest ...or their off shore accounts and/or trust funds....
tomcatty: yes january 2021 you silly sausage, keep taking the pills
end of transition

True blathin and somewhat worrying. We have no trade deals in place or anything else of any significance at the moment. Whilst trade deals have now reopened, due to the current situation nothing is written in stone so to speak.
germanspitz: My point exactly . Nothing of any significance has been achieved. It's all very much up in the air.
Transition period
During the transition period, all EU rules and regulations will continue to apply to the UK. Virtually nothing will change for businesses or for the public. This will give everyone more time to prepare themselves for the new agreements that the EU and the UK will conclude concerning their future relationship after 31 December 2020. If both the UK and the EU agree, this transition period may be extended once by two years, meaning it could remain in place until 31 December 2022. British Prime Minister Johnson has said, however, that he will not seek an extension.
Read the Withdrawal Agreement of 12 November 2019 on the website EUR-lex (the web portal for European Union legislation).
The agreement covers a range of issues, including:
the rights of EU citizens in the UK and British nationals in the EU (for the moment, little – if anything – will change for these people); the amount the UK will contribute to the EU budget (and for how long); the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland. the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland.

We have not extended the transition agreement so any trade deals have to be established before this period ends .It's not just about movement of people .Our cost of living could go sky high if we have no negotiable deals before the end of this year ,due to high tariffs on imported goods.

My opinion is we will go out, trade deal or not, we will not be beld to ransom by the pirates of EU, unelected as they are, I say out deal or not , the UK can make it alone, especially without the millstone of Europe around our neck.
I'm sorry you have no faith in our country and are not a patriot. JMO

What a disgusting comment. Mind you the sort I have come to expect from such as yourself
My thoughts lie with the farmers, fishermen etc .and the people who put food on our table . The steel workers, car manufactures etc etc. who have and maybe will lose their jobs. The people who put this country back on it's feet after the war who are now struggling to make ends meet.
Whereas all you think about is yourself and your imaginary lifestyle. The shame is on you.
