China has said it will take countermeasures against the UK should it grant residency to Hongkongers fleeing a harsh new national security law, promising that the UK would “bear all consequences”.
On Thursday, senior Chinese officials said the UK had no right to give residency to Hongkongers in response to Beijing forcing a sweeping anti-sedition law on the territory.
“China strongly condemns this and reserves the right to take further measures. The British side will bear all the consequences,” the foreign ministry spokesman, Zhao Lijian, said at a regular press briefing in Beijing.
Zhao’s comments came after the UK prime minister, Boris Johnson, said he would honour a promise to offer nearly 3 million residents of the former British colony, those with British national overseas status (BNO), the right to settle in the UK.

No, 3 million are NOT 'fleeing from HK' nor will they ever.
Boris The Clown has made a grand gesture in offering then a route to British Residency and Citizenship ... HOWEVER the recent riots in HK were financed by the US and the UK who seek to gain power in that region by causing trouble and creating a quagmire of difficulties for the Chinese Government on their own territory.
Most of the people who live on HK have said that it's their home, and that they have been happy to continue to live there peacefully - peacefully that was until there was interference from outside and The Trouble began. In fact, more people turned out to support the HK Government than were involved in the riots ... that of course was ignored by the TV and press media ... wonder why ?
What the UK WILL SEE though, is that high profile Chinese criminals WILL take up the offer and London will see, in the next decade, serious criminal street warfare to take control of the city. That's because London is already home to many of Russia's criminal elements who asset stripped that country after the fall of the former Soviet Union and before order was restored in the new Russian Federation !
3m, I don’t think they all want to come here and if offered alternatives they won’t look twice at the U.K’s doorstep.
People are losing their jobs and dropping like flies after being zapped by Bayton, so in that context it could cause a few ruffles if they are given jobs here when the U.K. already has the talent available.
Talent always comes at a premium, and from those I have worked with they are highly skilled.

It seems I already killed this thread with a single rational reply so, looks like you killed a corpse Lady !
If the government floods Britain with anybody please let it be them. They’ll be a bulwark against the fascism of Islam and the communism of the elites. A united front is necessary to defeat these insane ideologies.

89% of HKers speak Cantonese (majority) and or Mandarin ...
A united front therefore seems ... well, an unlikely outcome !
