Everyone I know, in USA, had phone trouble, shutting down, locked screens, etc.

Even heard from a friend in France who's phone locked.

There was that ALLEDGED Twitter hack roll eyes so they say. But I think something else was going on. My best guess, is 5G rollout and/or the installation of a COVID19 ... Something or other

I have Security 1 RCP smartphones and when anything like this happens we just reboot to full recovery and reinstall everything from the cloud which is fortified and safe. It doesn't sound like a virus although it could be... still change all your account passcodes from another secure unit if you're not sure and see if the problem replicates itself. This also happens to log on codes for mobile providers and drops can be common. Your own antivirus may be dropping the call and considering the problem as an invader without anything to do with the connecting server. If the browser rejects the connection in may also be due to scripts or a hundred other things depending on how your phone is set up.

No, my phone does not go online and do the googley. and why would i change my pass codes? I like the ones I have. They let me know where everything I want is located. Other than that, I agree. W.

You're the one who indicated you may have a virus or gotten hacked. It's the first thing people do. Learn to use the phone. comfort

I do not know whether to be happy, sad, or concerned. As for 5G, it is the next evolution of WiFi Technology. It will eventually make the Fibre NBN redundant but for that you will get greater and greater speed without out of control Hardware Upgrades, just software. I for one will remain on 4G for 2 reasons, 4G is fast enough for me, and although I could fit it into my budget 5G will be charged at $15 extra per month here in Australia.
If you do not like it don't pay and you can stay on 4G. I've already made my choice. W.

I hate to tell you this even though some will be paying for 5G they will still be using 4G, especially if your phone is not equipped for it or you have limited masts in your calling area. If masts are overloaded when the threshold will be reached data speeds will be lower. Technically very few need 5G and Huawei equipped providers are a risk and any Chinese parts that control relays or backhauls. Stick to 4G and save your money and just learn how to use a good phone with updated software and reasonable security.

I got my new phone and I love it. Bigger screen. Fast Processor. 128gb with a 64gb card. Should be way more than enough.
So far the battery seems much better. 24 hours with auto off 9pm to 6am, still at 61% and i just activated battery saver, which on the Note 4 seemed to make no difference. We'll see.
Fast charge.
So far I'm kind of glad I got pushed into buying another Android Phone.
And all for under 300.

This is a Phone update; I love my new phone more.
48 hour battery normal. I charge it once every 2 days but it will run into the third day easy. [It auto switches off between 9:30pm and 6am.]

A few weeks back they did a new OS Update and added Super Battery Saver mode -

20 Days [480 hours] standby use on Super Battery Saver mode. Phone and Text only.

My phone is leaving its frame, only slightly more than 3 years old. Hoped it would last at least 4. No luck. Will get a new one as soon as I have time for it, probably next week.

Speaking of being nice to be honest, the first time I tried to help you all I got back is swearing and irrational comments... I'm not the one who needs an attitude change. It a relatively easy problem to solve... as a techie.

I'm not sure what the actual problem is with your phone by your short explanation... so I'll just give it a shot whether right or wrong. Most smartphones ( especially cheaper ones under $400 ) have the same type of Li batteries only varying in quality and ability to preserve energy. Batteries technically run on a type of memory and as units get older even if you don't see changes they have to work harder to function and the heat inside eventually deteriorates the glue and tape holding the screen to the body through poor manufacturing. If the unit is not sealed pop the back lid off and use industrial super glue to bond the front carefully if the LED is not cracked by pressing from the backside to the front to seal it or hold the seams together where the gaps are. I did this a few times for friends with removable batteries and it worked fine. If the phone's original price is $700+ may be worth getting repaired... if a lot cheaper spending up to $200 for repairs after 3 years is really not a good idea. Watch what you touch, turn the phone off, remove the battery and then start fixing.

First of all, "YOU" asked for help and couldn't even explain your issue properly... instead of swearing and yelling you could have acted more sanely instead. No one here asked you for any $$$$$ and you're still rambling on about God knows what. The hacks come in different forms...one of the first signs you have a problem is the device is slowing down, heating up, or draining the battery for no reason. Also if data usage increases without you using the phone or not connecting to your closest provider mast. Even your Apps can jam the unit or make you reboot continuously. Due to anything from false Wi-Fi hotspots, Spyware, SS7, phishing, or even at a higher level when they use Stingray vehicles for intercepting. If you solved the problem good for you... then don't bother responding you still make no sense. Later. cheers

I am very sorry, you are right. How much would you charge to be held on retainer for 12 months? W.
