“EU leaders have reached a historic agreement on a €750bn coronavirus pandemic recovery fund and their long-term spending plans…” - The Guardian says.
“Despite initial opposition from the so-called frugal states of the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden and Denmark, agreement was finally found, following a final 5.15am session of the 27 on Tuesday morning, to disburse vast sums in the form of non-repayable grants to countries most stricken by the coronavirus pandemic.”

With Germany headed into a recession and other nations crying in pain, I'm sure there won't be an equal distribution. A large portion will go to illegals, of course, to keep their voting spirit high... you can guess the rest. Good luck anyway.
blathin: Ah that's great news Tulefell. I was wondering how those negotiations were going.. so thanks for putting that up,it's much appreciated...
At one point during the bad-tempered negotiations Macron had thumped the table in frustration and likened those thwarting his spending plans to the ill-fated British in previous budget negotiations.
The final outcome is a messy bundle of compromises. As part of the deal, the “frugals” will receive significant increases in the rebates they receive on their budget contributions, a throwback from 1984 when Margaret Thatcher secured discounts on the UK’s outsized budget contributions.
Merkel said the British departure had changed the balance among the remaining 27 members and created a new dynamic.
Michel also watered down his initial proposal for holding up the disbursement of funds both where there are concerns over either a lack of promised economic reform or the state of the rule of law in a country.

Spain will certainly use their share for corruption! They're the ones most in need!
Whole world is going through massive recession so this is actually good progress, in the send a decision has been made. How it will all pan out is another matter.
It sure won’t be equal distribution and some countries that have joined the bloc will no doubt syphon off the money somehow. How do they prevent corruption on a mass scale taking place with such a huge pot of money. Accountability gets flushed down the toilet pretty quick these days.

There are conditions attached to money, as the article says:
"Where there are fears that reforms are not being implemented by member states in receipt of money, any one EU leader can halt the disbursement to allow the European council of the 27 heads of state and government to “exhaustively” debate the situation."
Eventually, all illegals will vote so buying their vote now is highly important to the left... judicial law and deportation not so much. Sharia Law will be Europe's next big headache... patriots and the right will make gains. Socialism and Communism are failed political ideologies... their only purpose is to destroy societies, humanity, and democracies.

Sorry, but my impression is that you are on a wrong thread. This one is about 27 EU members agreeing on a recovery plan. There was a lot of tension and reluctance in the beginning and during negotiation, many leaders came with their own agenda in mind and the outcome wasn't given. But they found a compromise, a solution, a common plan. That's this thread is about.

Buying votes is across the whole political spectrum, history speaks for itself.

Your impression is wrong as I am right on topic... a compromise by bureaucrats in Germany will not work if you go by historical data. The most powerful nations will dominate like usual and the weaker ones will be hardest hit. Just logical... nothing ever changes. The smart countries will leave the EU similar to the UK and hopefully globalists will no longer have a grip on the rest of the world.
A simple example:
2018: EU-imposed austerity is finally over for pauperized Greece – and it’s time for a rethink of the whole European project.
"Greece has entered a new, “normal” phase now that the formal lending agreement with the Troika (International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank, European Commission) has come to an end. But after eight years of austerity, the truth is that no one can afford rose-tinted glasses. The crisis has cost Greece 25% of its GDP – unprecedented for any European nation during peacetime – the unemployment rate sits at almost 20%, even after hundreds of thousands of people have migrated, and the national debt is about 180%.
With COVID19, illegal migration, riots, socialist failures, etc., all I can say is good luck.

Illegals? I didn't know there was an EU country called "The Illegals"....

The deal is about the stronger countries helping the weaker ones.
