I was at work today and just thinking on things. You ever get lonely in a room full of people? I don't know what made me think of it but I thought back on a few dates I went on with a guy in highschool. I remember going to his house and playing cards and just a tad of partying on the side. We had the greatest time just sitting there and talking and playing cards (his grandfather in the other room). When it was time for me to go home, because I had a curfew, he walked me to my car. He gave me the most delightful kiss. We had real chemistry together. Like I stated, we had a few dates and then after that we didn't have contact. I saw him again several years later and he still had that look in his eye like he was glad to see me. He was doing well. We were both in a hurry with places to go so the conversation ended quickly. I think he was married at this time. I think back on things now and I wonder what happened? We really seemed to like one another. Anyway, I remember our dates and that's a pleasant memory. I could tell you about some more of my memorable dates but you share yours. Good or bad or just something special.

Well, I can quite remember the day of 9-11. I know where I was, and immediately a colleague called out it was the work of Osama Bin Laden. That whole evening I was watching the television, and the people jumping out of the windows of the burning tower were the most shocking moments for me. Well there is another day,the 6th of may 2002, when Pim Fortuyn a leader of a dutch populist party was killed. I think he would have been elected, and he was right in a lot of things he said. Actually he was killed about 5 km from where I live in the backdoor of my former job. Usually I went eating out with one, two or Three colleagues about the time he was killed, for I used to work 11 hours a day, so I had more free time during the summer. So if I had still been working there, maybe I could have stopped the murder, well I'll never know. But because of the way Pim Fortuyn was speaking, I think he would have been one of the best leaders of our country. And the way I was thinking then, I wouldn't have voted for him, but times have changed, now I would have voted for him with all my heart.
On a date once and he was total gentleman Just how he carried himself and conversation I’m a simple woman don’t do fancy or fussy he totally respected that and it was all about making me comfortable that’s about 15 years ago now and nobody came even close to it since
The date that I never forgot was 62 years ago when I went on a first date with my eventual husband-to-be four years later.
I was 16 years old, he was 28. And he was the first date I ever had. He took me to see a play called Sayonara. To see a play was very exciting for me because I lead a very sheltered life.
It was the story of soldiers stationed in Japan during the Korean War, U.S. Air Force Major Lloyd "Ace" Gruver falls for the beautiful Japanese actress Hana-ogi (Miiko Taka). However, he is hesitant to pursue the relationship due to the unfortunate example of his crew chief, Airman Joe Kelly (Red Buttons). Kelly, against official military advice and the prejudices of his commanding officers, married a Japanese woman, Katsumi (Miyoshi Umeki), and his military career has suffered ever since.
My date was a perfect gentleman, partly because he was a friend of my step-father and mainly because he was truly a gentleman. He set the standard of what a gentleman is.
Mrroscoe03: I drove 100 miles to meet up with someone from DH.....

Track16: I went to the bar one night with a woman who wanted to fight everyone there
Just had the same date a year ago with a woman from the village here. She wanted to go to the hairdresser by taxi, she often uses taxi's it seems for she had an older bill. So she didn't want to pay and made problems with the taxidriver. (In the taxi she emptied a whole bottle of wine, while the ride took us about 15 minutes. Later while her hair was done she somehow lost an earring, and she made trouble again. Then we went to a small tearoom where she was talking much too koud and when the waitress asked her if she could be a little silent she started shouting even harder. Then she wanted to go to a fancy restaurant where she forgot her glasses a week before. She wanted more wine, but the waitress refused it, for she was already drunk. Well, after that she got her glasses back, she walked into a chinese restaurant, she wanted to buy a bottle of wine again. First she came out again saying the wine was too expensive, but then she changed her mind, went in and bought the bottle. Then we went to a movie and afterwards we were sitting in the lounge of the cinema where she started to drink her own bottle of wine. So the waitress told her she had to leave. She refused, and there I decided I was leaving her. Enough's enough. I know a couple of girls who are very irritating and agressive when having a drink. That's not my cup of tea.
