PeKaatje: Just had the same date a year ago with a woman from the village here.
She wanted to go to the hairdresser by taxi, she often uses taxi's it seems for she had an older bill. So she didn't want to pay and made problems with the taxidriver. (In the taxi she emptied a whole bottle of wine, while the ride took us about 15 minutes.
Later while her hair was done she somehow lost an earring, and she made trouble again. Then we went to a small tearoom where she was talking much too koud and when the waitress asked her if she could be a little silent she started shouting even harder.
Then she wanted to go to a fancy restaurant where she forgot her glasses a week before. She wanted more wine, but the waitress refused it, for she was already drunk.
Well, after that she got her glasses back, she walked into a chinese restaurant, she wanted to buy a bottle of wine again. First she came out again saying the wine was too expensive, but then she changed her mind, went in and bought the bottle.
Then we went to a movie and afterwards we were sitting in the lounge of the cinema where she started to drink her own bottle of wine. So the waitress told her she had to leave.
She refused, and there I decided I was leaving her. Enough's enough.
I know a couple of girls who are very irritating and agressive when having a drink.
That's not my cup of tea.
You lasted much longer than I would have!

Well, point was my bike was standing in her garden, and I didn't want to go back alone with the taxi, the bus isn't riding there.
Finally I decided to take a taxi, anything better than staying with her a minute longer.
Next day she called me about 5 times and I didn't answer.
Then tired of hearing my phone ring, I answered and I told her I wasn't interested no longer. She said it was all due to the booze she had the day before. But the day before she also told me she wasn't welcome anymore in a lot of pubs, so it wasn't the first time...

Dating is certainly different as you get older. Went out with a guy who was about six years younger but was hesitant but wanted to see the 4th Fireworks. We did go out to eat before also and knew it was not going to work as he was a bit obnoxious. I stuck it out but did not want to go to the fireworks with him but did. It poured down raining right after we got there and did sporadically throughout the show.

1957 found me working on a washing machine for a lady that lived 2 houses up the street. A friend came over and said "There's a phone call for you at Baldy's". Baldy's was a candy store across the street which got it's name from the owner who was completely bald. I went to take the call immediately because a call costs a nickle for 3 minutes. It was my friend Danny. He said "Hey Whip (that was my nickname in those days) get up to Frankie Walters house, there's a chick up there and she's puttin out." I said, "But I'm working on a washing machine and I can't leave." He said "WHAT? Did you hear what I said"? There's a woman, a real woman up at Frankie's house and all the guys are taking turns." I said "OK, I'll get up there as soon as I can." I went back to working on the washing machine and all of a sudden I stopped and said to myself "What the hell am I doing"? I put my tools down and took off for Frankie's house as fast as I could. Like a typical NYC apt it was what is called a Railroad Flat meaning the rooms are all in a row. When I got there they said she was in the front room so I walked to the front room and there she was lying in a bed under a blanket. There was a TV in the corner and it was on and they were broadcasting the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth and this 23 YO woman was watching the TV.
I said Hi, and she said Hi. There were 2 other teenage girls at the apt but they were not a part of the proceedings, they just happened to be there. I took off my shoes and hopped under the blanket. I didn't even take my pants off. Hey, what the hell did I know, I was a 17 year old virgin! Well I said I wanted to see her womanhood repeatedly cause I had never seen one before and she kept refusing. I imagine after about 8 guys it probably wasn't in pristine condition and she was embarrassed. Anyway I was doing my thing when one of the other girls came in and asked "Florida" (that's what she said her name was) if she wanted a sandwich? Flo said "Yes please, a ham & cheese". The girl left and came back with a sandwich and Flo started eating it while she watched the Coronation on TV. Through all this I was in the saddle doing the nasty. Well, after about 45 minutes I was done and I said "Whew, that was a long one." She said "Yeah it was." I got up and said "See ya" and walked to the kitchen where I met a kid I hadn't seen since 3rd grade. Then I left and went back to working on that stupid washing machine.
