Regarded by many as the best rock guitarist of his generation.
"As good as Clapton was, he couldn't touch Peter Green."
Sadly and reputedly too much acid left him unable to continue with what surely would have been an outstanding career at the top. He became a recluse and rumour has it he even spent some time working as a garbage collector for his local council and refused to even pick a guitar up. So it was with great pleasure I saw him being interviewed a few years ago looking well and seeming very happy.
Fortunately he'd did continue for a short while after leaving Fleetwood Mac resulting in a wonderfull instrumental 1970 album titled somewhat prophetically now, The End of the Game proving his masterly rock guitar playing was second to none, (maybe Hendrix excluded.)
If you like rock guitar treat your ears to this, but turn it up loud....
There was an excellent BBC documentary about him that I saw on Netflix a year or two ago. I'm pretty sure it's on Amazon Prime nowadays. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

That might be what I saw, was there a recent interview with him on the documentary?
