I woke up the other morning on the sofa with a killer hangover, a half spilled can in 1 hand, a half eaten pizza in my hair, and asked myself this very question. Then i just decided to finish my beer and pizza and go back to sleep

TheDino1: I certainly am..
hmmm maybe -proud- aint quite the expression i`d use ,but grateful ... Grateful to God, my parents and life itself how they shaped me in to the person i am today

Good answer, can totally agree, as I credit my mother, may she rest in peace, for the man I am today..
Sometimes is the answer to that. I've an older brother who is ridiculously successful and a dead hero for a best friend. To help redress the balance I became a carer for the sick on the side of fixing boilers but there's a way to go yet.

As I said earlier, It's a long road, but we just gotta keep keeping on..
I don't really like the word 'proud' in most of the ways it's used. Pride can quite often be the bedfellow of prejudice, and not just in the book title.
I would prefer to say, I'm ok with who I am, but there's always room for improvement.
Or as this quote succinctly says...
"I am content with where I am with my wealth, status, practice, etc. and I am proud in that. I can have that Pride without having to broadcast it, and I can move on. My Pride is purely internal."
