I'm seeing someone now. He's the second man I've had a face-to-face date with. The first fellow sadly is in a nursing home fighting long covid.
My present involvement is with a man who lives only 25 miles from me, and we have volunteered at the same Vets Hub in the past. But I didn't meet him until I came here.

i was reading some posts where some people had been on here like "12+ years" which got me thinking about this and the time and effort one has put in....is it worth it even if you dont meet anyone?

Yes I met someone from the south east so a fare distance from me.
We were seeing each other over a 9 month period and a very nice respectful lady.
Unfortunately she had serious health problems and the distance made things difficult.

Want to go live with a lady there 
I have dated a couple of men from this site, and even went to a CS get together in Benidorm in 2010 (the year the Icelandic volcano erupted - I spent 2 weeks there instead of the 1 week that I had booked but all was good lol!) and I still keep in contact with a lot of the lovely folk I met.
A couple of my friends met their other halves through CS and have now been happily married for several years.
Sadly though, I have met a couple of "local" members on here who didn't have profile pictures and - suffice to say - they were nothing like their descriptions of themselves so I tend to be wary these days
All in all though, CS is completely free and even if you don't meet "the one" there is good craic to be had
