Cranky_Geezer: Much of the past decade's socializing appears to be almost exclusively online. This is especially true in 2020 for obvious reasons.
So... You've been talking to someone you've grown very fond of for days or weeks. Maybe you've video chatted and that seemed to go well. All of a sudden the communication falters or perhaps you're ghosted. What's your reaction and next move?

Some keep in touch all the time, while others only from time to time because they're busy people and we respect each other's space.

I agree! Online "friends" are only acquaintances, as far as I am concerned.
I'm all for deep connection and I've only found that a couple of times.
One of those "friends" lasted nearly 7 years.
Others were short lived, but good while it lasted.
So I never had to block them. It just faded away on its own.

Yes... I might be guilty of 'chatting for a few days' (online) then my focus goes elsewhere and suddenly I realise it's a week or more since I replied to someone ...So... But after videochatting I think being ghosted is a bit weird ... I hope I never did it to anyone ...
As for suddenly being ghosted or ignored after finding a connection with someone ... not sure it has happened lately ... if it did I would just move on... you can become fond of someone but until you meet for real it's all really an illusion created by your perception ... even after meeting you can feel fond of someone but until love develops there is no emotional attachment for me. My 'falling in love' process is completely different now ...

It depends really If I can feel something change I will try talk to them about it

If they continue what more can you do but stop communication ,if their not putting in an effort before they meet you or an effort to meet you it’s just a waste of time as far as I’m concerned.
