I live in a street in the old part of town that cars can't access because of narrow parts and right angles.... only people there are neighbours and visitors ...As Jac says we look out for one another!
And when social distancing is over we said we're having a street party!

In rather small ways, S. Like playing music after 23.00 so that I can hear it clearly in my bedroom or blocking my door with their bike. When I point it out, they apologise so sweetly and sincerely, that you believe them. But the very same thing will repeat a few days later. Small things, when repeated, have a tendency to accumulate.

This town is very much like that. I live on a street with only houses on one side. The other side is a park, running the full length. It’s very “woodsy”. The family to my right have a big home, three kids, and a dog. His mother lives with them, in her own suite. The wife leaves food on my step frequently, I let her use my garden hose and rake, etc...we are courteous and friendly all the time, yet I wouldn’t say “cozy” exactly. The neighbor to my left is a professor at our local college. She owns another home about 80 miles south of here, and is in process of giving up this one, so I’ll have a new neighbor soon. She has been courteous, but distant. We have had holiday dinners at mutual friends’ in the neighborhood, too. I know everyone on the street, all are nice.------ This thread is Archived ------
