I'm not so alcohol dependent, so I wouldn't do anything.

no, 450 euro, it's wheatbeer. 5% alcohol.
Also about 100 euro's, I'll get back when I return the crates and empty bottles.
So payed about 550 euro. No worries, this week I'll earn about 3x that amount for about 30 hrs work.

Yes, that's a good price, especially for Ireland, where beer in stores is cheap.
For my wheatbeer here, I usually pay €4.49 for 6 bottles.
But my supermarket also had an action this week, I got 50 points a six-pack on my clientscard, x100 = 5000 points. Every month they have several products I can get for only 150-250 points, no money requiered. So, just have to wait till I see something interesting. Got over 9000 points on my card now. rolling on the floor laughing

ah yes. Beer in Irish supermarkets is expensive. Even more expensive than in the Netherlands. But in the pubs the prices are better than in the Netherlands. But in the UK, most beers are only 4%. That's why british often get more drunk when they are in the Netherlands, they ain't used to the stronger beer, like we do.
When I was in the UK I preferred Carling-beer. In Oban (scotland), I usually drank tennant, not bad either.
I was supposed to be in the UK this summer for 2 months after I had to cancel my plans to travel to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for 2 months, due to covid 19.
But unfortunately, had to cancel my plans to travel to the UK also.
Still want to see a lot of the UK, like the Lake district, Yorkshire, Cardiff, Lands end, stonehenge, Wales and Northern Ireland. Was supposed to do that this summer.
Now it has to wait. If travelling to south east asia isn't safe next year, well, maybe next year it would be okay to go to the UK again. Unfortunately it's difficult when travelling by train. I never took drivinglessons.

It's hard to beat a good pint of Guinness though, a meal in itself..grin I was supposed to go to Spain for a couple of weeks also, Covid has messed things up for us all, but the sun will shine another day for sure..

Cardiff...?

What is your interest? The castle, the museum, the micro-brewery near the train station if it survives covid, Roath Park Lake, the Millennium Stadium...?

I'm not a great fan of Cardiff myself, but there are a few interesting places to visit.

Sorry, my mistake, I meant Cornwall. But never seen Cardiff either. The UK is somewhat bigger than the Netherlands, and even here I haven't seen all.

The Lake District is well worth a visit paticularly if you decide to do some walking. A day rider bus ticket is cheap and will cover most of the area.
Don't bother with Stonehenge though, it regularly appears in the world's most disappointing tourist places to visit lists.
