Mahon_MacRi: Despite the fact that the very first words on my profile read "Just friends, please," I just got an email from some silly Welsh woman (supposedly; "she" could just as easily be a catfish, for all I know!) who was spewing some complete rubbish about how she was "seeking the deepest commitment with a man."

If you can't be bothered reading someone's profile, why bother emailing them? You're just wasting your time and, worse, probably annoying the Hell out of them! ??

I haven't the faintest clue who Jac is. Their handle is "sweetnlonelygur," and they're from Swansee Wales...or at least that's what they said on their profile, anyway.??

Sounds like you had a '"form letter" from a "Romance Scammer", we all have had them. Scammers are on every site. And every time a site closes down, we get an influx here.
The longer you are here, the easier they are to spot.
Block, and report and good luck to you
