Hurricane Sally Intensifies, Targets Louisiana Region With Potential Tornadoes and Heavy Storm Surge
Sally is expected to continue strengthening as it moves northwestward toward the northern Gulf Coast through tonight. The hurricane is forecast to then turn more northward near southeast Louisiana and Mississippi sometime on Tuesday. Sally is forecast to be at Category 2 intensity as it nears a final landfall in southeast LOUISIANA , MISSISSIPPI or ALABAMA late TUESDAY into early WEDNESDAY. However, there is uncertainty in this intensity forecast, so stay alert for possible changes since Sally could grow stronger.

Yes it is nasty but it's not even close to Hurricane Florence that we had in 2018 here in North Carolina. The devastation from Florence tore up Surf City Island so much that people who evacuated couldn't get back onto the island to look for their homes. They were lucky if they could find their house. Every roof was ripped off every building on the island. Streets had so much sand it was difficult to drive even with a truck. I lived 15 minutes from the island and even my roof was tore up.

Hurricane Harvey just about destroyed Houston in 2017 and Andrea pretty much took Florida off the map years ago.
