An atomic nucleus has a mass because of the Higgs boson, inside all protons and neutrons. There are several other bosons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boson) which the Higgs boson may provide mass to. Bosons have something peculiar: in the intergalactic or interstellar space where temperature is near the absolute zero, they may condense in a single quantum state (unlike ordinary matter, which is composed of fermions). The process is called Bose-Einstein condensation:

Clouds of condensed bosons are likely candidates for explaining the non-interacting nature of dark matter.
