Tulefell: If you knew that you are going to die tomorrow, how would you spend today?

I'd find and burn a bunch of love letters from 28 years ago and go paddling no matter the weather.
Tulefell this is a great thread. Makes a change from Politics, covid.

You save love letters for 28 years!?
Cherishing those lovely memories of the good old times.?
Perhaps , if possible get in touch with that person and pour your heart out.
Please no offence just my thoughts.

Lots of different ideas of what one will do.
This thread , the question you pose is so inspirational. Folks why wait till the last day to do something? Do it now.
I was going to say I would sort out the legal bits like my Will etc so my family has less stress when I have gone.
But instead I shall do it now. J S. lol

Otherwise I will stay calm and probably call my dearest close family and friends and just chat to them. No Dramas!!
cheers peace bouquet

Well... I wouldn't say "save", I just don't have a heart to do anything with them - not re-read, not throw away, not send back to the author - first it was too fresh and painful, now it's just a sweet reminder of my youth. And a rarity, as no one sends physical letters anymore :)

There's no need to bother the author: it was a long time ago, we were different people. I've poured my heart out then and there and so did he - I have his part, after all. It's done.

I wouldn't want, though, anyone to touch these letters, so I should destroy them soonishly (as tomorrow is promised to none).

I'll write letters to you if you want. Long letters written in Gothic script with an old fashioned pen, pages long!

Would you? Well, yes please!

I'm not sure, though, whether I'd be able to decipher Gothic hand-writing, but I can always answer in Cyrillic. To keep it even :)

My last day? I wouldn't waste it contemplating past mistakes, whether there is a God or some kind of reward in a mythical land called heaven. I would start it out with a pot of dark roast coffee and end it with a pitcher of whiskey sours. Sitting by the lake, a bonfire, blues music and with my trusted companion, a 12 year old golden retriever, at my side.

Tomorrow never comes until it arrives. When it does it's gone in a flash. Do what you have to do today as in the next minute you may be gone.

Butterflygirl1: I’d spend the day with all my family hugging and laughing.

I always had this thing where I won’t leave anything unsaid to people I care about or leave anyone with bad feelings. If I was to die today I’ve left nobody with bad words or not knowing how much they mean to me.

I also have a few private letters and stuff I’d get rid of first
I decided not to bother. Who would read them after all? The heirs will sweep all our wee belongings in trash sacks without checking what's what and dump it at the nearest garbage station.

Could be my plan for the nearest rainy week-end: clean the clutter :)

There's a pattern emerging: bonfire, music / poetry and alcohol :)
