Yes scallions, a wee bit of bacon chopped thrown through the mash too, I'm salivating now, but I always do when I think of you lovely..

I don't know why they call them scallions lovely, it's a bit like cilantro and coriander I reckon..

Spring onions or shallots are terms used in the U.K but usually shallots are small onions minus the green stems.
I buy what I call shallots which are green stems
