Spring onions or shallots are terms used in the U.K but usually shallots are small onions minus the green stems.

Mercedes_00: Dino many moons ago I use to finely chop shallots in my mash as well..I call em shallots..You call them something else.
Yes scallions, a wee bit of bacon chopped thrown through the mash too, I'm salivating now, but I always do when I think of you lovely..blushing hug
