Well, the name origin is purely Czech - from the name of the city called Ceské Budejovice in Czech (Budweiss in German language, which was the official language of Austro-Hungarian empire). And while the mark Budweiser started in America, the name for the “beer from Budweis” - Budweiser - has originated from Czech lands still.However, most of the people I met (who tasted both) would agree with me (I also tried both), that the Czech one is far better and should be regarded as the original one

Long ago, I enjoyed all the Canadian beers, Molson, Moosehead, Labatts, etc. I haven't had any in quite a while... are they still independently owned? Most of the smaller breweries here have been bought out... With a bonfire.....
