Joe Biden has vowed to unify Americans and heal deep divides across the country in his first speech since being named US president-elect.
He pledged to "work with all my heart to win the confidence of the whole people", admitting to those who backed Donald Trump instead that "I understand your disappointment".
"But now let's give each other a chance," he urged. "It's time to put away the harsh rhetoric, lower the temperature, see each other again and listen to each other again."
Kamala Harris, the vice president-elect, introduced Mr Biden at their drive-in rally in Wilmington, Delaware, and, before he took to the stage, praised officials who oversaw election counts.
"You have protected the integrity of our democracy," she said.
Acknowledging her historic role as number two in the new administration, Ms Harris predicted: "While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last - because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities." Do you believe him, or are you thinking, here we go again??????

Oh Tom you love opening that door, you little imp you..
It could be because 70m of us just lost a Presidential election. Or because the 75m of us that won a Presidential election, have little confidence that the progressive agenda that they seek will occur.
But the people of this country were unhappy long before the recent election. Politicians knew that. Every sampling poll taken said exactly that. Americans were unhappy for a number of reasons and issues.
That unhappiness is the reason that negative ad campaigns have long been done. Politicians could and did blame the opposing candidate for the people’s unhappiness. And it worked over the many years that negative ad campaigns have been run to win elections. This year was no different. Especially since one side had pandemic data and images to add to their negative campaign ads.
A poll taken in June of this year….says that only 14% of the country is happy. The highest level of unhappiness since 1972. Then to flip the poll into a political hit job, CNN adds in….’record level of unhappiness is partially because people feel something is wrong with the country.’
Of course what is wrong….is because of the present administration of the time of the poll. An administration that CNN disapproved of. But do you really think happiness is emoting from the country with the Biden/Harris win?
Well a few titles of recent liberal articles. From Quartz “What happens if a President -Elect dies” From Yahoo News Canada “Don’t come to Canada, Fix your country first” NY Post “ New York Coronavirus positive test rate soars over 2% and records most daily cases in six months: Coumo” Not much happiness in those titles.
With liberal titles and media like that, President Biden has his work cut out to bring happiness to the country. Much less to bring healing to the country that he campaigned on.So though many are celebrating in the streets that they were just protesting in. I don’t think many of them are really happy.
So in the next political cycle, a new group of REP negative campaign ads can come to attack the Biden/Harris administration. Slicing away voters and giving the REP another shot at the Presidency in 2024. By the way...if you did not notice...this year alot of Blacks and Hispanic voters were sliced away from the DEM voting block. That is a real indication that they are not happy here.
Things are not all roses and sunshine in DEM land.
Happy people don't riot, loot and burn buildings down. Happy people don't tear statutes and other historical monuments down. Happy people don't amass in numbers to block highways, bridges and city main arteries. Now were there causes for social protest this summer? Yes. Most every American can look and did feel that the George Floyd death was wrong. But the rest? Happy people don't do.
But I am not blaming negative campaign ads for the unhappiness in the country. I think that negative campaign ads are a symptom of a country that is unhappy. Politicians just use that them to gain voter identification for votes. This more negative campaign adds were done than in time in our country's history.
The old line about a ‘chicken in every pot’ comes to mind. That elected politicians could keep their constituents happy with food on the table. Only today’s American is not seeking for a chicken in the pot. He wants a new Tesla in the garage. Here in the Biden/Harris administration is going to have some problems. How do they increase household incomes while at same time raise taxes.
But here is where one of the causes of America’s unhappiness.

Guess he will run the country only for four years, if he's lucky, he's way to old. Well, Trump made problems with Cuba, Iran, North Korea, China, Canada, Mexico, The European Union, lot of worldwide organisations etc. Will Biden be able to heal all the stuff? How will the senate react on him?
There's a lot uncertain, but it's almost certain Biden wont fulfill 2 periods of 4 years.
There's been so much fraud committed by the Democrats, including 14,000 dead voting for Biden. I hope they all end up in jail where they belong. All you idiots celebrating. Why don't you go and live in Communist China as that's what will be inflicted on the rest of the world if justice isn't done.
