If the liberals and the conservatives truly want all people to come together we all need to stop insulting each other and calling each other names. People don't and shouldn't think alike. It makes for a lively debate that should never end in fingerpointing and personal insults. As long as that is going on this country will remain divided. We don't need any president to do that for us we should be able to do it on our own. I'm not saying we don't need a president at all but coming together is a job we can handle for ourselves regardless of who's in office.
We all have more things in common than we could admit to. Like worrying about our bills, the price of groceries, rent or mortgage payments, carpools, finding a job, getting to work on time, etc. I'm sure you could add more to this list. Though it is not likely to happen, I would really like to see a couple leaders of BLM and the Proud Boys get together and talk or debate with each other instead of shouting and cursing and shooting. After a couple of friendly beers they might find they are not so different. Stop casting blame on each other for what the government caused.
Let each side practice their first amendment right to freedom of speech. The only reason counter protesters are there is take that right away. If you don't like what they are saying turn away but don't try to shut them up because if you do they holler even louder and maybe even get physical. Let the other side have their peaceful rally's. After a while they will all go home and no harm done. But only if no one tries to shut them down. Instead hold your own rally that day on the other side of town.
That would be a good start. Liberals reach out in your own neighborhood and at least become friendly acquaintances with a conservative neighbor. Conservatives should do the same with their liberal neighbors.
You don't have to give up your convictions to reach across the aisle

Maybe it's time to change the political system? Say every state is as important as the others. Get more parties, and kick out the gun-lobby. I know also jews has much influence in the elections, if a candidate says something wrong about Israël, he can forget it.
And then again, look how much money is spent in the elections every 4 years while much people hardly have to eat. It's a shame.
Something funny defiantly went on with this election.
If this nation will ever be “The land of the FREE” then “all the leaders” will need to act reasonably, put all the differences aside and face each other with one goal in mind “The PEOPLE”.
Like any good parent teach their children by setting a good example.
But, it has unfortunately progressed well beyond the point of civility.
War is here, now.
Now is the time to fight to retain our rights, or lose them forever. They were not given by the government, only enshrined in our founding documents. Remember what those documents said.
You're right. Freedom is never free. I know that our one last chance before there is no turning back is to learn how to talk to each other without the benefit of any politicians. Even though at this time it is not likely to happen. I cannot understand the ones who would take our weapons from us in such a time as this.
