Did your ancestors not profit in some way from the atrocities committed by "the settlers" by being able to immigrate to "the USA" when they did? I'm sure the Spaniards were brutal. I'm also sure that comparing the different ways that invaders destroyed cultures and their indigenous people isn't going to serve much purpose on this site.
It will only serve to create bigger wedges between people who are already having enough of a hard time with the different confinements due to the virus...

You see in these united states we still have a freedom of speech. And for some funny reason, when Europeans bash the usa i sometimes remind them of the truth which is basically to point out how hypocritical they are. I'm sure the Spaniards were brutal.
