From my experience on this site, they are famous for being the rudest and most inhospitable people on the planet. I talk to women all over the world, but not Irish women! I don't know why, just what.

Been in Ireland, easy to hitchhike, and friendly people, had a great time and want to explore more of the country. Unfortunately I never learned to drive, so it's just where I can get a ride to.

PeaceIsLife: Poverty and shame
Due to the EU There's less poverty in Ireland. But of course every country has it's poor people.
Someone in thius site told me 67% that get help from a foodbank in the USA have a fulltime job, sometimes even more than that, 10-12 hours a day.
When I was In Ireland (travelled the east and south I didn't see much poor people. Allthough I saw some beggars in Cork city.

and what about being poor, you have the chance to change that, if you are clever enough. I teach children how to play chess, and make good money. In the past I used to have jobs that payed minimum wage or even less. I know what poverty is!!!
It took me some years, and now I can say I am rich.

That's almost funny coming from an English person.

England has spread misery in every country it invaded and occupied around the world over the centuries - Ireland being a prime example of my point.

We Irish know of no spectacle so disgusting as when you English, given your demonic history in our country, throw one of your hypocritical fits of morality.

Our country is artificially partitioned by an invading and occupying country, which is causing all kinds of trouble to this day - Covid 19, because we can not seal the border of the whole of Ireland - and Brexit, being prime examples of my point.

We Irish are Gaels, and our country is named in our stead. We are a distinct people - and our country is one of the oldest in the world.

Ireland existed as a Nation/State/Kingdom, and was recognised as such throughout the western world - with its own High King, language, writing (both Ogham and 18 letter alphabet) - laws, the very essence of a unitary State, long before the 10th century upstart England even existed.

Irish writing is the oldest vernacular literature in Western Europe - Irish law is the oldest, most original, and most extensive of the European legal systems. It is a unique legal inheritance, an independent indigenous system of advanced jurisprudence for the Nation/Kingdom/State of Ireland that was fully evolved by the 8th century.

When England invaded, Ruaidrí Ua Conchobair was the High King of Ireland (without opposition) - therefore Ireland was a sovereign state in which Irish people were united by known and accepted factors which define a nation - such as language, law, and common descent.

Our Gaelic political and social order, and associated culture, originated/evolved in Ireland during prehistoric times - and still dominates to this day, despite all the foreign interference.

When the Roman Empire fell, we Irish saved the western world by opening centres of learning throughout Europe - meanwhile, people in what was to become England were walking around on their knuckles.
