Dead simple !!!
You answer a question with a counter question..

Making or posting a comment on a certain blog, however intelligent it may be , doesn’t constitute a conversation.
I hope you’re learn something today folks professor

No, that’s not what I’m saying.
If I asked you a for information about a certain topic , chances are , I’m not looking for a conversation, whereas , if you’re talking generally, then the conversation will flow if both parties asked questions simultaneously.
If someone posts a forum blog , posting a comment without asking a question in return just kills the conversation.
Does that make sense?

Unfortunately the art of conversation is dying.

I get a lot of it on here just few words as reply or a statement if a conversation is only one way I just move on like I would do in real life situation.

Questions can be aggressive, especially when you talk to new people. If you don't know them well (or at all) you don't know what they are comfortable to talk about. Too many questions might sound interrogative, especially if you ask something the person wouldn't rather talk about. It's much better to start talking about neutral topics and then slowly advance to more deeper or private ones, checking the atmosphere all the time.

With some people, the conversation simply "flows" with no special effort done by any side. It might be a casual conversation or something deeper, but it seems effortless. With others - no matter what you try to do to keep the conversation going - it simply fades away or you both struggle until it stops. Sometimes the conversation can go on and on, but you can't help but thinking that although constantly moving, it leads nowhere. Many times "the conversation" isn't that at all - it's a one-sided talk (where you are only a passive participant, a listener) or effort (when you are only an active participant, the one trying to make a conversation).

If your post is about the conversation on forums/blogs, then there's no reason for questions, because every statement is open for discussion. Whatever any of the participants write can be commented. You can't force people to comment on a thread/blog if they are not interested in the topic or they might think that everything has already been said. If a person writes one comment, it doesn't mean that they want to continue conversation. Sometimes people lose interest during the discussion or think that it's pointless to keep discussing the particular matter or talking to certain members. Often threads/blogs start with one idea, but develop into something completely else and you can't force them back to the start. Constantly asking questions just in order to keep the thread/blog alive can be rather annoying. professor

Conversation feels more wrong the longer it goes on. There are too many, this is the public square, each person is in some way talking to all people at all times. Why not highlight the impersonal nature of the internet rather than befriend it?

Ok . So you’ve left me with a lot to digest .

The thing about the forums is that you can avoid a particular comment , or topic if you wish, which would be more difficult if you were with company.
That also applies to certain individuals.
The art of conversation is to have a little knowledge on many topics .
A blog poster is , or should be in control of the topic , or conversation & how it plans out .
I’ve noticed that the people who post the most rarely make their own blogs .
Have I missed anything?

I hope that’s not the case .. Being from a Greek background , communicating with masses is a way of life .. Basically, if you’re in good company, the conversation always flows .
The internet was supposed to bring people together. Unfortunately, it’s had the opposite effect .

I don't know about other people and their reasons, but the reason why I rarely open threads/blogs (not only here - it was the same on other places, too) is exactly the reason you mentioned - the OP is - to a certain extent - responsible for their thread/blog and that means: reading all comments, replying to everyone, keeping the thread going... I find that rather exhausting to be honest. And CS is supposed to be some casual fun, so... dunno
