My dad was stone cold tone deaf but he could always manage to whistle (and I don't know if this is the right name or not) "76 Trombones (led the big parade)". I'll find myself, sometimes, humming the song, my brother whistles it as well.

I was riding in a car with my dad going up Riverside Drive in Manhattan one night when I was about 7 years old and he started singing this song. When I got home, I told my mother that daddy was singing to me and she said "What? I never heard him sing, he never sang to me! I will never forget that night. That was 73 years ago. Both my parents are gone now, but the memory of that night is as vivid in my mind as if it happened yesterday.

Also today got the photography of an old magazine where my parents were walking hand in hand. I hardly recognized them, also because of the distance. And due to corona I haven't visited my mother for months now, I work in different schools and have contact with lots of people, so to take care of my mom I don't go there yet. But the 14th of december is my last working day for this year and then Ihave free for almost three weeks, so I feel safe to go over on new years day.
