Are other countries doing anything similar during this pandemic? I wonder who will pay for this. Im to old and on the way out so it’s not obligatory I help repay.

Estimated pay schedule for individuals with income below 75000./ year @ 12/14- to 12/22. Could be more than first, but looking at $ 1200.00. Even contemplating a third incentive...but this second one will almost surely go into our accounts. (People with auto- bank transfers will receive first). I’m not approving or disapproving— just the fax...

I wish they would give us the option to redirect our stimulus money to those more needy, especially if we have to pay income taxes on unearned income like this.

Sounds like really fat morbidly obese people are getting a free ride
galrads: It doesn't look like she’s feeding any homeless Veterans.
She hasn't been holding out for more money for Americans that is for sure (DACCA, ILLEGALS, Convicts, Foreign interest groups, and MILLIONS were sent overseas to NON Americans.)
908 BILLION DOLLARS And Pelosi set yet ANOTHER dead line. Which is December 15th. It does NOT INCLUDE CHECK'S FOR AMERICANS AT ALL. (not stimulus checks or unemployment).
The only reason for this deadline is to (allegedly) avoid a Government shutdown, which only effects a minute amount of Americans. Shutdowns are actually common and Americans don't care about Government shutdowns anyway. Hell we wouldn't know it, or notice it, if they didn't tell us and MSM cry over it.

All of which, furture generations have to pay back. It is not a gift, but a loan.
Yep, future generations will have to pay it back or maybe social security recipients might see drastic cutbacks in their retirement benefit and medicare defunct.
galrads: Sad truth people just don't want to hear.
If Trump had done his job while in office we would not have to be dealing with this big mess. Glad he got voted out. Don't want to deal with another Pandamic with someone not doing his job as Commander In Chief.

It's the same in the Netherlands, and after the vaccinations, the people will have to start beginning to pay it all back. Maybe til the next generation. But due to our government our national debt was brought down the last years, so we could spend some more. And also due to the low interests worldwide, the debt isn't fatal.
This country's worst move was to go along with idiot Ronald Regans New World Order stunt 1984, which was embraced by PM Paul Keating. Keating set in motion the biggest rip off the Australian people ever got lumbered with, as it lead to PM John Howard's government selling of almost all the peoples assets to their rich mates.
However Australia was the only major economy to avoid a recession during the 2008 global financial crisis - mainly due to demand from China for its natural resources. ... Australia has had a steady economy growth for decades with strong coal, iron ore and natural gas exports to a surging China. Enter PM Kevin Rudd's stimulus packages... In response to the Global Financial Crisis of the late 2000s, the Rudd government announced in October 2008 that it would guarantee all bank deposits. The government initially ignored Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) advice to cap the guarantee.
With the economy experiencing its biggest slowdown since the early 1990s and facing a recession, the government announced an economic stimulus package worth $10.4 billion
Its true that a burden of debit gets imposed upon the people. However in past it proved to have been a good course as a vibrant economy was ale to claw back the debit, almost back into a surplus, however we have again gone back into debit.
The current trade war (the flu) has had a devastating effect on world economies. It has shut down many economies, however that's probably better than dropping bombs, but sort your country out I think nations of the world will sort the gross dishonest you as a people continue to display. You might believe god will save you but in expressing that view galrads by default you are equally blaming your perception of a one god for the millions of peopled killed by American inspired wars including WW2 because your god must have been in charge of that. Berry your heads in the sand for as long as you like. America in continuing to create global destabilization hoping to create another major world wide conflict, as America did during the 1930's by imposing rules imposed by the united states upon the rest of the world is simply not going to be tolerated.
America continues to refuse to listen that of course is initially up to America stimulus or not the out come will still be the same the US Peso.

May I make a suggestion? Btw— so cool of you to be thinking along those lines right now...do you have a favorite organization? { mine are The Humane Society, Henry Street Settlement - NYC, and The Episcopal Laymens’ Society}. All these, and similar, generally are responsible with funds. You can find out most groups financial use— for example, a non profit here sends to anyone who asks, a spreadsheet like, “Administrative costs and salaries 17%, Materials and utilities 23%, Direct Client Services 58%, misc. 2%.” Just a thought...blessings

The Democrats won't have to cut payments; the inflation will do that for them. The Democrats buy the votes of the poor with spending bills; but their actions tax the value of the dollar, which affect the rich property holders much less. Such stupidity.

"While the news on coronavirus is grim, you might be happy to know that you won’t owe taxes on your stimulus check, also known as an Economic Impact Payment. Under the Cares Act, the stimulus checks are treated as a fully refundable tax credit for 2020, which means it isn’t included in gross income and thereby isn’t subject to taxes.
The stimulus checks are an advance on your 2020 tax credit, and you’ll need to report it when you file your 2020 taxes. However, “the stimulus check does not necessarily impact your 2020 tax refund or payment due,” says Dan Schindler, tax senior manager at Anders, an accounting and tax firm in St. Louis."
