You see the definition of pretty is: "of a person, especially of a woman or child, attractive in a delicate way without being truly beautiful ... an attractive thing, especially a trinket"
My guess is you'd have to find new words that define the beauty of women as you and they get older and are no longer "pretty girls".
And so I'm saying look for those new words to define women's beauty already and if it could apply to a little girl with ribbons in her hair then it probably wouldn't do justice enough to a grown woman..

See!!!! You do have other ways of describing women that don't just qualify her appearance!! 
Pretty is very superficial and speaks only of outside veneer ... beauty speaks on many different levels ...

I never says I didn't like to be called beautiful ... I said setting up a competition to compare one woman's pretty appearance to another" was not a good thing to do, nor is pretty a good word to define women with ...
