Miss_Cellaneous: The UK will still have a Monarchy and the Islanders will still be singing *Rule Britannia *
Of course, it will be King Charles by then,
and we will just be emerging from Covid 70.

Have a good Christmas, and stay safe, teddybear bouquet

PeKaatje: Yes.
It's brought out again under this title, I believe.

It's about a girl, living in a world where robots and machines rule over three cities, and when she misbehaved too many times she is send to the desert where she learns how to live in a world without computers.
Part of the story is impossible, like getting a new body when you are tired of your old, commiting suicide and the robots give you a new life, while you remember everything of your old life etc.
But the main theme is that we don't need all these computers etc. without we can have a good life too, maybe even better. Makes you think...
I will search for it. thumbs up
I used to read science fiction a lot in the past, but haven't read much lately. One of the most recent books I read was "The Joy Makers" by Gunn E. James (a friend told me that "The Matrix" was partly based on it). it also deals with the idea of utopia. You might like it:

well, Only have a few sf books at home, most of them are from Tanith Lee, and 5 books of dr who. I am used to read more horror, thrillers, western and some detectives.
Horror could also be sf sometimes.

nope, don't watch any series anymore. Just the news and sometimes sports. And very sometimes a movie on Youtube.
When I'm out of bed I prefer to be active on the computer instead of inactive behind my tv.
