While painting today I caught myself thinking about various previous dates. There were ordinary ones and unusual ones, romantic ones and funny ones, dinners at nice restaurants, going for a walk or drive afterwards, watching films at the cinema, going to a concert or a visit to a nearby interesting place (a spa, natural resort, amusement park, zoo or some historical monument, like a castle)... The ones I remember the most are the ones when I was most in love and happy. When you are in love - whatever you do with the loved one is fun and special.
However, I cannot chose one special date, something that I will always remember and would like to do again. Not any more, at least.
How about you? Is there a date with a special someone you will never forget and would like to repeat (with the same person or someone else)?

Yes. I couldn't believe how good looking she was. I had for some reason put it into my mind that she wasn't going to be attractive so I got a hell of a shock!

This happened to me once. I met a man from one forum. We never exchanged photos or messages, just met on threads here and there. He was coming to my town and sent me a message asking me if I wanted to meet. I said yes and when we met it was ... We fell in love instantly. It was such a silly day! We were so enchanted with each other, talked all the time (I had no idea what we talked about ), went here, there, to one cafe, to another, to a restaurant... He came in the morning for just a couple of hours and stayed until midnight!

A Croatian girl, we met in Split, I had seen her on Skype but nothing prepared me for her Blond hair and Green eyes. She was so beautiful. She had to go back to Oz two days later,
You reminded me of something that happened to me in the past.
I used to have pen-pals from various countries, including India. Several Indian men asked me if I had ever had a boyfriend. I was shocked! I practically lived with my boyfriend while we were studying at university and I was in my early 20's then and - 20 years later someone asks such a question!
But then they explained to me that for many of them dating and relationships were still forbidden before marriage and since I wasn't married they assumed that I'd never had a boyfriend. Then I explained to them that here people often had relationships and even lived together without getting married and they were so surprised!
Different cultures, different rules and customs...

Yes, welcome to the free world... ...
It's amazing how different we humans are on Mother earth, so close, but so different... ...

And that shock when I said that we hadn't had arranged marriages for a hundred years!
In India and many other countries people still have arranged marriages. Somewhere it's just an option, but somewhere it's a rule.
Human relationships can vary a lot from one country and culture to another and especially male-female relationships can be very different from what we are used to, so international dating might be rather difficult and demanding.
I don't think about the past, I'm in the present and I like to look to the future. If a date didn't bring a lasting relationship then the date was a mistake as far as I'm concerned and mistakes are to be understood, corrected if possible and we move on. Because of that... thanks to that, I hardly remember any of the past dates but for maybe a couple. Sometimes having a bad memory is a blessing in disguise.

Like someone said earlier whom i agree with..special depends how you felt about the person if there was a connection. If there was the date was a special moment in time no matter if a relationship developed or not

Unlike many women for whom a "date" is the opportunity for a free meal -
- many men ( if not all ) date for the opportunity to spend the rest of their lives with the person they go on a date with. I can only express opinion from the point of view of a man, not a woman. I understand that for many women dating is a big game where they have many advantages. Of course, most women are the recipients in a date and most will not even go on a date if they are expected Dutch it. It's different for men but who cares about that, right?
