I understand why you say that. As a child she was in The Professional. As an adult she was in one of the Avenger movies and was Thor's love interest. It doesn't make sense to compare her work as a child to Charlize's portrayal of a woman who killed men she was involved with in The Monster movie which she won an Academy Award for.
I agree that she doesn't hold a candle to Charlize Theron and others you mentioned but you need to realize that Galrad is commenting on her as a child in The Professionals.

Although it was not my intent in this thread to compare actors, some of those you’ve listed, Ive never seen them act and I’ve never seen any of them act in a leading role at a young age. Portman was passable in Star Wars if not mediocre, overshadowed by R2D2, C3P0 and the Jar-Jar Binks actors. I especially like her acting in V for Vendetta
Any young female lead would've done the trick thanks to Lucas's direction.
V for Vendetta is a good movie. Again, Portman’s performance is just OK and very forgettable.

I'm talking about her acting in general. I've seen her in half a dozen movies ( which I didn't see for her but for other reasons ) and, to me, she's not a good actress at all.
