Jajajajajajajaj... We even had five digit numbers when I was a kid... I remember the first one she had when they started to have six digits... 91-**-** 
And she had one in her living room and the other one next to her bed...

I don't know, I can't remember, it was shorter than today's phone numbers...
I remember Mom saying that they were on a party line...... some people would eavesdrop ...
they all new each other, all farmers in the same area...
I did buy some Wonderful Pistachios today...
... It's not to bad outside for a walk right now, I think I'm going, I might get snow tonight, and colder tomorrow... Oh... Happy New Year C.

As for my first PC 15 years ago.

St Andrew elementary grade-school here had a payphone on a hall wall way back when I attended. i found out in third grade that if i put a quarter in it and let the call ring just twice that I would get two quarters back when I hung up... i kept that a secret all these years. I’d finish a decent school lunch with that money and then hit the sacristy upstairs for a bit of altar wine when I was about 12.
