Jajajajajajajaj... We even had five digit numbers when I was a kid... I remember the first one she had when they started to have six digits... 91-**-** laugh And she had one in her living room and the other one next to her bed... bouquet

I don't know, I can't remember, it was shorter than today's phone numbers... laugh

I remember Mom saying that they were on a party line...... some people would eavesdrop ... rolling on the floor laughing they all new each other, all farmers in the same area...

I did buy some Wonderful Pistachios today... innocent ... It's not to bad outside for a walk right now, I think I'm going, I might get snow tonight, and colder tomorrow... Oh... Happy New Year C. wave

you inserted the money, well, lol, when i was going out with my boyfriend, the owner of the post office, a lovely caring man, would put me through for nothing ,i would be in the phone box, he knew my voice, and
would connect me and not ask me to insert the money,,,,,,, Yes i am very old

St Andrew elementary grade-school here had a payphone on a hall wall way back when I attended. i found out in third grade that if i put a quarter in it and let the call ring just twice that I would get two quarters back when I hung up... i kept that a secret all these years. I’d finish a decent school lunch with that money and then hit the sacristy upstairs for a bit of altar wine when I was about 12.
