This is little Christmas ,or women's Christmas, 6th January.
When women go out or stay in to celebrate, have a drink, and men do the work.
Is there something similar where you come from?

Some of the more interesting beliefs associated with Nollaig na mban were that all the well water in Ireland was said to turn into wine at midnight on Little Christmas. No one was permitted to go out to observe this spectacle, or even to sample the well water, or they would be met with very bad luck. At midnight on Christmas Eve too, farm animals were believed to have had the power of human speech, but a terrible fate also awaited those who spied on them.

Epiphany (/?'p?f?ni/ i-PIF-?-nee), also known as Theophany in the east, is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation (theophany) of God incarnate as Jesus Christ.

Yes that’s true as in the big cities it wasn’t celebrated it was more a rural tradition, as it was to celebrate the work women did for the farming community so to repay all the women, man do their chores, while the women had a day off with a few drinks! Don’t forget back in the day women weren’t allowed in pubs, only men. So the men gave back to the women for all their hard work keeping them. hug beer wine
