With house prices at an all time high & jobs going the opposite way , will this create the boomerang generation in the future . Will it not be financially affordable for youngsters to leave the nest in the next few years , or will they be coming home to roost after losing their jobs as a result of the pandemic.

Are you afraid yours will come back home?
If mine came back I would be happy, for a while I will feel good knowing she finally learnt that adult life is not easy

If mine came back we would live like sardines in a tin, as I downsized 5 years ago! I have 8 adult children and 10 grandchildren! So thank god they are nearly all settled in their own homes.
I dont get why it is so horrid that kids stay with parents. I grew up at a time when women stayed with parents and men with parents til married. Even then they moved in with one set of parents. Grandparents, parents and adult kids stayed together as family units. And helped each other. All of a sudden that was passe and any kid who stayed home was a loser. Didn't matter if they lived in a dump as long as they lived alone. Independence doesnt have to mean cutting ties like parents hate kids and kids hate parents. Families used to stay together to benefit all. I never had kids. I stayed on the family farm through both marriages. It was taught me that when dad died, it was up to me to care for the farm and mom and take over when she died. I ended up quasi adopting my boarder and he lives in my basement. We provide for each other. Makes life easier for him and for me. Lets end the isolation people suffer because society says we all need to live alone.

On the contrary. I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my daughter from Australia & would welcome her back with open arms . However, due to the current situation in London, we both felt it best to stay there until such time as its seemed safe to return.

Many properties in Cornwall have been priced off the market by greedy Londoners, who have decided to buy a holiday home in Cornwall, thus pushing the price of property out of the range of the youngsters, who move away.

galrads: This is a dating web site. Politics is more important than whatever this threads topic is about. Cs is going to the dogs.
So , when you go on a date & in your case , I’m talking hypothetically, would you talk about various grown up topics , which include children, or just bring your ghetto blaster and play music .

galrads: I know my threads have little to do with dating except to show what or how I think of stuff. I am here for amusement. Dating is amusing. My recent remarks are due to censorship on cs. They have clarified today that this is a daing site which contradicts their own description why cs exist.
