Side on, rounded shoulders, knees bent, making himself smaller, hands covering his groin, but the direct eye contact and smile doesn't suggest a lack of confidence.
That's an inviting, coaxing posture rather than a dominant, or confrontaional one.
Sawdust_Molly: Yeah... look at me! Before I started to go to the kindergarten, I was already married with some baby boy who's name I couldn't pronounce properly.

Ah ... very astute your observations jac. Here’s the actual video scene with more detail of course. I didn’t know till this episode of peaky blinders that the English prefer cutting up palms and clasping hands instead of wedding rings.

Well, they are gypsies who lived in Birmingham, England, according to the creator and writer Steven Knight and BBC tv. In this story Thomas Shelby’s grandmother was born on a boat, his mother was born on a train. Thomas Shelby went from digging tunnels in France during WWI to being a representative in British Parliament and was indebted to Winston Churchill whom saved Tommy’s life in this story.
I can hear his thoughts..WHEW! I remember the first photo my fella sent me. We had been writing for 2 months or more. I hounded him for a photo newer than when he was a kid. Finally! I clicked on the email attachment and went WOW!! Two women friends were here. I hollered at them..come see what I have been writing too all this time. I don't know what I expected, but it sure was nice to find out he was the handsomest man in the whole state.
