I get a laugh out of the ads for date sites. The women are all gorgeous babes and the men are hunks. Even the senior sites. And the women say they are looking for a fun time, romance and a caring relationship. Read between the lines...they like to party and get drunk, get swept off their feet by a man who groves at their feet bestowing jewels, furs and cars on them. Cash will do too. They want a guy to care for them enough to support them and their 3 kids by different dads.
The men might look like that...30 years ago before the beer gut and flab set in. They are looking for a long term relationship..IE, no wedding ring hon.
Then we have the foriegn ones. Anyone will do as long as they will send them money, a plane ticket and green card. Age unimportant.
The other fun one is weight average or a BIT heavy. Does 450 count as a bit?
Anyone have some more to add?laugh

I will take it that your age is correct, but your profile says you are looking for males 18-99. Is that false advertisement? What would you do with an 18 year old male?

I am not picking on you only pointing out how easy it is to promote things that makes us go confused

Blame this site. They don't have choice, you get what they list. I would choose, not looking, period. But, they don't have it. As to what would I do with an 18 year old man...confused lets see... I need that blasted oak sofa out of the library, and the console stereo out of my house. There is a pile of cut ash across the drive that needs to go to the woodshed. What do you mean...what else would I use him for. Young and dumb and ego filled...I like older men. Unfortunately at my age, they are either in the nursing home or grave.laugh sigh Guess I will stick to younger men...my fella is almost two years younger.
Another joke of date sites.. self employed...hmmm...NOT employed, selling drugs?

As I said: I was not picking on you teddybear

I used to dislike (still do) Mills & Boons and Silhouette and other Harlequin books because, based on the ones I perused (I have three sisters) as a young man, the men were brain surgeons, accomplished lawyers, top firefighters, etc. so I used to believe all women were out of my league rolling on the floor laughing

Cant stand romance novels. Thought of writing for Harlequin. I guess they send you an outline and basically you fill in the blanks. Can't believe women devour them. I read lots of books when younger...like fairy tales.
She wishes for her knight, he shows up, they fall in love at first glance, obstacles separate them, she flees, he flees, she gets hurt, he gets hurt, wars, fights, bad parents/stepparents, and finally love conquers all and they live happily ever after.barf
Give me good sci fi, monsters,action..no romcoms! No wonder young people are so messed up.
Real life is what you think you want, is not what you will fall in love with. And don't pick on looks cause we all get old.
Neighbor wanted a wife. And kids. Rejected women with a kid. Now he is too old to hope. frustrated

Personally it's not my thing. I've no interest in younger men but I do know plenty of women (in real life) who'd make you blush with how they'd answer that one about the 18 year old lad....laugh

And yes agreed, it's all too easy to inadvertently promote things that give the wrong impression on sites like this..

Amazing that we are the most cultured, educated animals on earth.Yet our whole societies center around getting it on. Books, movies, clubs, social media. Humans have more in common with Bonobos than they will admit. To heck with HAND shake.rolling on the floor laughing
The breeding instinct rains supreme. That is why marriages fail, crimes get committed and kids grow up in broken homes.
For all our intellect, humans still center on physical beauty to generate lust. Whole industries cater to achieving and keeping it. So many people miss out on true love and togetherness because they all want the same movie star and reject less.
At least humans don't go around sniffing butts like dogs and cats.laugh
