Lonely1: We still have the ‘law’ as another form of reformation for the evil ones among us. So when the family, schools, religion, and the workplace fails, the legal system takes over. It’s sad that some are born evil from the womb (there’s proof for this, but it’s better to be born good rather than evil because an evil life is bad for the person and for others they come in contact with).

Once again we get into the vicious cycle of yin and yang, good and evil, karma, nature or nurture, etc...
Then you should follow Buddhism where there is no good or bad, but everything just IS.

Unfortunately, we live in the 3rdD reality, which is a world of duality.

Move into the 5th where it is NEUTRAL.

Ah thanks Butin...I guess having spent most of my life surrounded by religion I've had plenty of time to make sense of it..Being taught science by a catholic priest at 15 was interesting and a real eye opener to say the least lol...

I used to pit what he was teaching (in science) against his beliefs as a priest...which I, and the rest of the class, found highly amusing..The bruises it earned me were soooo worth it though. He never realised he talked me onto the path of atheism Not that long ago I was told by an old class mate that that same priest ran off with one of the nuns that taught us a different subject...laugh

Dan_777: True but..
All the groups that I mentioned insist on telling everybody else that they are right and everybody else is wrong!

Which is probably the cause of a great deal of the friction in this world.
Not all the groups. To claim this is wrong or that is right would be an acceptance that there is something to be right or wrong about, whilst in Buddhism there is 'no thing' there to be right or wrong about in the first place.

I do realise that Bod but...
Looking at it as a whole, if we had, say 10 different religious leaders sitting around a table and discussing this topic, I'm sure there would be a fight to the death! laugh

They would be all pointing fingers at each other and none would back off.

Dan_777: In conclusion, some religions believe in heaven and hell, the day of judgment, reincarnation, rebirth, sin & karma... while others do not.

From an atheist or non-believer´s `point of view, All religions are man-made constructs and dogmas imposed upon the human population, from the moment we were born, with the aim to instill fear and control the masses.

Most people were born into a religion and didn´t consciously choose it.

However, it does give hope and supply a compass for those who need it,

So, the question is: Who is right and who is wrong??

Or... are they ALL right, or ALL wrong?
I`d add Atheism and mammonism to the existing religions
but nevertheless its always the same concept -obey without questioning, worship

I can't speak for other atheists but I don't believe in there being any sort of "higher power"..

As a wise old man once said. "When one person has an imaginary friend, they're crazy. When everyone has an imaginary friend, it's a religion" doh laugh

Actually, come to think of it, I would probably be better described as an existential nihilist. (we live, we die and that's pretty much it basically). There's no meaning to our existence and, other than procreation, propagation of the species, no purpose. We're only here as a result of millions of years of accidents and co-incidences.

You know, there used to be at least five species of humans on earth at one stage. The homo sapiens and neanderthals were around at approximately the same time, and even though they didn't really mix a lot there was some interbreeding. The neanderthals were extremely intelligent but very docile and gentle, where as the homo sapiens weren't very intelligent at all but were incredibly violent and they pretty much wiped out the neanderthals..( I don't know what the ratio is, or even if it's everyone but ) modern day humans carry both Homo Sapien Genes and some Neanderthal genes (Not sure if it's everyone or just a small %), but we're predominantly Homo Sapien...

Calling someone a neanderthal is the wrong way around...they were the smart ones....Imagine how much more advanced we'd be if we had descended from the Neanderthals instead of the Homo Sapiens...I can't imagine so few would have been able to fool so many into believing in "god", as the evidence was always there to suggest the non existance or need of a God...

Do I really want an entity...I can never hear or see...deciding my life and fate for me? going to a church or mosque...reading a book of pryors...worshipping a supposed god and thinking everything will just fall into place? Nope

I was thinking a jesus...they say he healed the sick and disabled...they say he parted the red sea..they say fish fell from the sky and fed the starving...but...if he did such wonderful miracles...he could have heeled the world of famine..sickness...disability etc and heel the world

My question is why would he allow them to put him on a cross to be sacrificed? If he could have done so much good living...why would he let evil prevail and stop his miracle work?

My mother suffered with MS for two decades and where was good...while a lovely woman and person suffered...but still made the most of her life and carried on for a long time....knowing life would never ever be the same for her and things we take for granted...she could no longer dosad flower

If a god did exist...he would be a very cruel good and let so many people get away with awful crimes...murders etc and punish good people...who never done anyone any harm...No not a god I would ever look upto..worship or ever want to believe in
