Dear Ladies, one of the most common traits I read anywhere is that a man should be "down to earth"? When I ask, I never get an answer.
Is this one of the basics to understand the feminine thoughts and needs? Or is this one of these things like "a question to which there is never an answer".

If I said.... I want a man who is down to earth.... it would mean I want someone whose expectations of me aren't so high that they wouldn't meet his standards.

I interpret “down-to-earth” as being practical, friendly, unassuming, not usually negative or egotistical. A common term from my youth - 1970’s, was,
“I don’t think I’m better than anyone else. But I’ll be damned if I’m not just as good.”
THAT is from someone who is down-to-earth. Hope this helps

To me, a person who is down to earth is easy going, fun loving, respectful, trustworthy, kind and sensible, and much more. Basically, anyone who isn't an asshat.

I don't think "down to earth" means the same for everyone ...
Me I prefer someone who believes in fairies and unicorns

Realistic about things. Understands the ups and downs of life. Doesn't think he is the greatest thing on earth and people should worship the ground he walks on.

Bruce Willis in Die Hard. Homer from the Simpsons.
A man who is liked by other men. The simple pleasures. The everyman. I don't want to be a hero but I am.
