I’d like to know if this gif is offensive to anyone. The younger and losing quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs is on the older winning quarterback’s shoulders. .
secretagent09: It's intended to mock the Chief's quarterback. It doesn't offend me because it's stupid.
The meme is supposed to symbolize that Brady will show the Chief's QB how to get to the super bowl.
There was a lot of comment before the game that the Chief's quarterback was six years old when Brady won his first super bowl.
Thanks for the reply M Yes, the story about the age difference when Brady was in his first super bowl win is how i viewed it. well, now a good black friend of mine told me he was deeply offended when I posted it on facebook. I guess maybe i lost a friend, or maybe i didn't lose a friend.

Some people have no sense of humour, not me I love a good laugh..

What were the reasons your friend gave for being offended?

It was perceived as increased racial disparity and patronizing black k athletes as in treating them like babies and that the super bowl had to be rigged to benefit the white old man qb for buccaneers.

But neither Mahomes or Brady are black. I don't understand why he's offended. Maybe he's a fan of the Chief's and crying boo hoo hoo cause the Bucs won. Sometimes people will stretch to find a reason to be offended.
Next year Brady is going down in the Los Angeles Stupid Bowl game

To be honest, when I saw your posting of this, I didn't find it humorous, but I took it as a jab at the losing team. The competitive jabbing is given out on both sides and I don't find it offensive. I don't join in on age-related jabbing, as I certainly get enough of that here on CS and find it arrogant and condescending of those who do it. It is a privilege to be growing old.
To be honest, I didn't consider the race-related view of this meme at all. Am I perhaps color blind? I'm not sure the meme creator intended it as a racial insult.
This is an interesting example of how our very own life experiences color the way we interpret things. We believe we know what the other is thinking, yet we cannot truly know that. Also in today's society, we are so quick on deciding we don't like someone, and are quick to unfriend and disassociate people based on differing views, and perhaps incorrect assumptions.

Kaybee50: Indeed it is. Mahomes Jr. is an outstanding young man. The world is his oyster. I hope he and his team regain their confidence before next season.
I don't know if you will agree KB but it was certainly not the norm the way the Chief's played in that game. I don't think it was the hype or even that they were intimidated playing Brady. Something was off and I don't think it was each player although they did get a lot of penalties. However, I still think there was a ghost in that game. It doesn't make sense for them to end up with a score like that.
Maybe they threw the game so Brady could win in his home state.

Nah.....that would mean that Brady cheated......
The Chiefs fell apart. They didn't throw the game....they wanted that trophy a 2nd year in a row. I believe they would've lost even without the questionable penalties. It made no sense at all for them to play like that, beings they are one of the best teams right now. I couldn't watch the 4th quarter. I love my Chiefs, win or lose.
