snowlynx: I don't have that many I'm afraid, I've a lot more of the opposite.
One must CHOOSE optimism. It does not occur ‘naturally’. The curse of all mankind is trouble from cradle to grave. It is our obligation to strive for, and obtain, a good life. Everyone has sorrow...it takes courage to carve out a decent, contented existence. I, and many, many others on CS have had to claw our way out. And if I can do it, ANYBODY can do it— I’m the biggest spoiled rotten grandma’s precious little stinker there ever was. I am the epitome of a maudlin man. But I don’t live in that realm. Choose to be happy. Nothing tangible in the world will, or can, do it , but you.teddybear

The day I ran my first 10k honestly my heart almost burst with excitement crossing the finish line.

When I got my college results.

Passing my driving test.

Selenite: ... idyllic happy moments of your life that nobody can steal from you because you already experienced the happiness, inner peace, joy of that moment... ...
In Spanish "Que me quiten lo bailado!"

What's your "Que me quiten lo bailado!" moment(s) that you can revisit any time you want to set your heart aglow?
For me, it is the births of each of my children.

2intrigued: Thank you for posting this Selenite because all too often people get caught up with negativity and lose sight of the things we should be grateful for and that includes all the things and events in life that brought a smile to our face and joy that filled our heart and soul. Looking back, I can think of many things that made me happy and can't possibly list them all here....sometimes it's the smallest things that make all the difference in the world to us....a simple hug, a good friend, being one with nature....the list is endless.
Thanks for sharing 2intrigued bouquet

rohaan: Neat thread! For me, I think of those rare two- three day camping trips to the northern Oregon coast- the drive out from Portland was relaxing, the trip took about an hour and a half, there were great cafes and shops peppered along the way, people were warm and friendly. And then, the campground was so elegantly rustic— no motor vehicles allowed (you had to park above, take your gear down about a third of a mile.) I remember listening to a creek on one side and the lulling ocean on the other, all nestled in thick Douglas Fir and Ponderosa. It had to be the most perfect spot I knew of on earth. It meant so much to me because, although I loved much of city life, I longed for the wilderness and rural beaches. (Now I live it 24/7–Far out!!) next halcyon - probably my kitten Skedaddle—(Now I live it 24/7-far, far, farrrr out.. )
Nah, I’m pretty happy these days....it just got too quiet in the house... better go rescue him...Er, me, Er...
Thanks!!

Wow!! Sounds totally idyllic! daydream

Glad you and skedaddle are recuing one another
