Military training teachers your best chance of survival is to charge straight into the direction of the in-coming fire as a carefully planed ambush would have covered all other options

It's funny how people rely on their military training, i have seen too many vets in the hospital for backaches to take military strategy seriously. With Nixon and Trump as president, we know who they were looking out for, themselves, staying in power.

Well yes and no, if an Ambush is sprung its highly likely the ditch on the left directly opposite to the side from where the bullets are coming from would be a minefield. A properly laid ambush would very likely have most angles covered. Most vets i know who actually saw active service weren't shot or blown up often suffered serious psychological problems, backaches wasn't something they were troubled by.
Best as I can tell Trump was the first US President in decades who never started a war. Threatened to, but I don't think he actually started one. USA's economy has been funded by war after war, its why other countries are currently trying sort that
When I lived at Strathfield I was ambushed by a taxi driver around 1am..I was at a party and my gut told me something just wasn't right with the men there..Something told me they were up to no good..I had been drinking but I'm street smart I stay alert in any environment drinking or not..I snuck out of that house and flagged a taxi down..I always sit in the back when getting a taxi..He was a young Lebanese bloke...When we stopped outside my apartment he asked if he could come with me to wash his hands because his hands were dirty..I truly can't remember the excuse I gave him as to why to allow me to go to my apartment by myself to check on something first and I would then come back and allow him to wash his hands..That part I can't remember..He said okay I wait here in taxi..I made sure to get into a position where I could watch him from the corner of my eye so I could see behind me in case he followed me..I calmly walked till I was out of sight then I ran..When I got inside I looked between my blind and he was waiting..I called the police but he took off before they arrived

Wow! You're brave! I would have told him not to be offended but I don't let strangers in my house. That would have scared me to death!

1am in the morning stopped me from saying something like that in case he drove off with me still in the taxi taking me somewhere raping me or murder or both..That's what was going through my mind..Him taking off with me to somewhere in the bush or some secluded beach
Mercedes_00: I was young not underage but I can still remember his face and how he lifted his hands off the steering wheel wanting me to see his so called dirty hands.
Younger people sometimes are naive and think they are invincible and take too many risks. I know I made many stupid mistakes myself.
I do believe if I was ambushed on the street or something like that my hair would let me down..Hair now down to my calves..I run he just has to grab my hair even if I was 100 metres in front of him..He could still grab my hair

Mercedes_00: With this constant torrential rain I feel like I'm in bloody England
I need a warm to very hot continent
Oh are you flooded, I saw on the mews someone's whole house floated away, uncanny our houses in the UK don't float.
Yes I agree about hot climates, I live in the Med most of the time, but the Covid caught me in the UK so I've had 12 months of English weather I long for the Cyprus sun again
