pat8lanips: I'm thinking, I don't want to live in America after watching the handmaids tale, it looks pretty rough.
It is actually about real life in North America, Canada- Where women lure other corporate women into an executive insider club and they brand them for Mr.X. They already take away their children, and change their gender. In Canada parents have no rights. Makes you wonder what's up with the upbringing of men (breeders) in Canada, and socialism.
Enjoy your soap operas until you are one. ::drinking:
pat8lanips: They don't sound Canadian, well not to my ears anyway. Usually I would be able to tell the difference.
The show is filmed in New England. The Handmaid's Tale is the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society in what was the United States. Gilead is ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state, and is faced with environmental disasters and a plummeting birth rate.
It isn't about Canadians. That's why they don't sound Canadian. The only thing Canadian about The Handmaid's Tale is the author, Margaret Atwood.
Merc, if I gave you the wrong impression, I'm sorry. I may have been a bit immature and for that, I'm sorry. There are things I didn't take into account and I'm not always mindful of what others may be thinking or feeling.
