What do you think of Ubuntu? Real, fabricated, good thing, not possible in corporate countries ?

An anthropologist showed a game to the children of an African tribe ... He placed a basket of delicious fruits near a tree trunk and told them: The first child to reach the tree will get the basket.

When he gave them the start signal, he was surprised that they were walking together, holding hands until they reached the tree and shared the fruit! When he asked them why you did that when every one of you could get the basket only for him!

They answered with astonishment: Ubuntu.

"That is, how can one of us be happy while the rest are miserable?" Ubuntu in their civilization means: (I am because we are).

That tribe knows the secret of happiness that has been lost in all societies that transcend them and which consider themselves civilized societies ....... !!

Good lessen not only for individuals but for all nations. If all nations joined together when one is in dire need of help it would join civilization in one cause for peace and well-being.

It is pretty much known that when you help others you will be euphoric in your own happiness hug

It's funny that the US helps more countries on this planet, than any other nation, yet we seem to be the most hated nation.. Maybe pulling back a bit, and taking care of our needy would be in everyone's best interest...

Probably because Americans are always bragging about what the do for others. Compare your huge country to the small island called the UK , as Galrads likes to call us, and the balance is way out.

Israel one of the most prosperous countries in the World gets a huge chunk from the U.S. Why ??

In short, the growing U.S. support for the Israeli government, like U.S. support for allies elsewhere in the world, is not motivated primarily by objective security needs ,or a strong moral commitment to the country. rather, as elsewhere, U.S. foreign policy is motivated primarily to advance its own perceived strategic interests.::sigh:

Ubuntu is also an open-source operating system, while Windows is a paid and licensed operating system.

Ubuntu has always been free to download, use and share. The developers believe in the power of open source software; Ubuntu could not exist without its worldwide community of voluntary developers.

Does Ubuntu need antivirus?
The short answer is no, there is no significant threat to an Ubuntu system from a virus.

Yes Ubuntu is a awesome OS. It was my main for many years but recently I'm back on Windows as it has a free Virus scanner. On Ubuntu I would need to buy Eset or alike to get similar security. Otherways I would be back on Ubuntu tomorrow.

It's probably best not to mention Israel on here, it seems to be a taboo subject, a bit like an elephant in the room.. And to call for a Free Palestine is definite a sore point for many sad flower

I put Clam on the Ubuntu but I don;t think was much good.
I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 bit and use Malwarebytes Premium (paid) it is comprehensive antivirus program. Also run free version Panda Dome, its a good program.

I just looked up Malwarebytes for Ubuntu and found the following information:

Ubuntu computers are known for their security, but this does not rule out the possibility of viruses. If you want to use a Windows virus program, such as the Malwarebytes free antivirus tool, you must first install the Windows environment application Wine, then install Malwarebytes through that.

Eset also scans the UEFI sector.

Win7...I'd update to 10 for the sake of security updates.

The US does NOT help more countries on the planet than any other nation. if you look it up "per capita" you will find the US is waaaaay down the list.

If you look it up as a % of GNP the US is even further down the list...

The US does however, interfere with more countries on this planet than any other. Like what the hell is the US doing starting wars in the middle east....Trump was very clear about that one.."protecting the US's oil supply"

I agree you should be taking care of your own needy and start being a lot fairer, gracious and decent towards your own. Ye behave like animals towards each other and it's shocking to watch how badly you treat the likes of the black Americans, the poor, the sick, etc etc..it's utterly shocking...

All nations would join together in the event of an alien invasion. Humanity unites on the cusp of extinction that gives predators something to do anyway. Killing aliens.

No way. Aliens are welcome everywhere except places like Vatican city, and nancy pelosis home.
