It was very difficult to do with the time difference. It was interesting in that I learned a little about other places - and even learned a couple of Tagalog phrases.

Never met in person.
You were dating someone? Who lived in another country? And you never met them?
That's what used to be called having a pen pal.
So when did pen pals suddenly become someone you were dating?
Honestly....the people on here are getting weirder and weirder by the day....
Jimbhoy63: Just say how it went on a long distance relationship and did it work ??
The farthest long distance relationship I have been involved in was with someone who lived about 6,600 miles from Dublin, Ohio USA. Not just distance but time zones made it stupid to continue given my meager incomes. The farthest away I’ve enjoyed a few quick jump in the hay was about 6,096 miles away in the notre dame guest house across the street from the old city jerusalem. I prefer the later over the former any day. Keep it simple unless you have lots of money imho.
The longest was the one from outside of my city .. And I remember the thrill and excitement as it was like a blind date .. Cause that time we had no internet on mobile and could not send picture or do video calls... We both were too young ... In our twenty's... It was our first mobile dating !!!
An interesting yet sweet memory...
But that's it...
Though it was Him who travelled for hours to meet me , still , just thinking of that much effort , I now can't even imagine to do it with someone from another country ...

Well, yeah, I did, though it turned out to be more a liaison than a relationship.
He is an ex-pat working abroad.
We met online and after months of communicating via Skype, email, texts and phone, he arranged to fly back to NZ for a week spent together, before he returned to his job.
Whilst there was chemistry, the long distance proved fatal.
Months later he contacted me for a rendezvous as he was returning to NZ for a visit. I declined the meet-up as I realised then it was more about the physical, than anything else for him.
Long distance: exciting, an adventure(short-term) but both really need to be totally committed for it to work long term.
I dated a lady from Ireland a good few years ago now. She was a funny inteligent attractive woman. We traveled between Scotland and Ireland for over two years and although it's only 300 miles none of us were willing to commit because at that time we both had our own kids to think of first. So we just said goodbye at Dublin Airport and went our separate ways.

Well there's a name from the long distant past. How are you Jim boy, great to see you.
Jimbhoy63: I'm doing not too bad mate. Back on here after around 15 yrs away
Do you remember Pat from Glasgow? Can't remember his username, he's been gone for a long time now. Ralph from Edinburgh was great fun, I stayed in contact with him on fb after he left.

Thinking about Ralph, he dated and eventually married someone from another country. They met on here , Maria moved over to Edinburgh from Spain when they married. Quite a success story for cs.

I met a Chinese woman over the net in Cyprus, she was staying in the same town as me, We got on famously physically and mentally, she suddenly disappeared one day, and I found out later she had been deported , I then met up with a Finnish woman on holiday, who invited me back to Finland for a weeks holiday, We stayed together for seven years.
