I know a few..like the letters used like ETS, Asap, Fubar..lol. But, these days it seems no one can spell out anything. And half the time, they ASSUME everyone knows what the acronyms means. Read a magazine, there they are. Listen to news, more of them. Are people so lazy or so much of a rush they can't let the peons into their private world? If a writer wants to reduce to letters for some long name, then at least in the first mention, write out or say the full wording, then go to the acronym. No wonder people can't communicate anymore.
On that idea..why can't any name of a company or society or charity settle for leaving SOMETHING out of their title. The Society of the prevention of the subject of the section of the object that is subject to...ARGH!!!!frustrated

I don’t have a problem with them. People used to try and find humor in a lot of acronyms back in the day. Take A cigarette commercial line for Luck Strike cigarettes... LSMFT... Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco. uh oh laugh

Jesus wept,do you have anything good to say about anyone, last time I was on here you were ranting on how lazy and no good the young people of today are.....FYI, they're the ones who're trying to figure out how to clean up the mess that your generation left in your wake.

I understand where you’re coming from. But we live in an ever-changing world of verbiage and communication, and there’s not a whole lot to be done about it. Examples are: “Wonderful” became “Keen” became “Cool” became “Chill” became “Chillax”, etc..., even “etc...” shortens the word, as “misc.” does. I cringe when I hear someone say, “Me and my friend”, when the correct way is “My friend and I”, and so on. Guess, try not to let it “ ruffle your feathers” or “ rattle your cage”. Peace out....sad flower

Everytime I read a text and see an acronym I go "somethinSomething" in my head. laugh If the person didn't take the time to spell it out I'm not going to worry about finding out what it is, it's not that important to me if it's not that important to them.
