Have you ever been mistakenly walking along the Mediterranean coast at Jaffa Israel and find yourself under one of those call to prayer towers and the loud speaker goes off? Feck those things are loud! laugh

Incan dig it. I wonder though how many people loose a kidney or suffer unrecoverable kidney damage in Saudi Arabia during this hot weather period caused by lack of hydration during ramadan.

Never been to Palestine, but I know what you mean, when walking around Jemaa el-Fnaa square in Marrakesh, everything just stops and the call to pray just fills the air, as soon as it finishes the place erupts back into life.. That's when I ride off on my camel and smoke some good hashish in the mountains..
grin dancing

Not in Jaffa but I did pass by the grand mosque in Kigali, Rwanda. When the call rang out I instinctively stopped, put my hands on my belly and bowed my head until the call was done. My ears rang a bit but it was worth it!!

The fast is recommended only to healthy people. Those who cannot observe the fast due to health problems are excused.
I used to do it when I was younger but now that my whole digestive tract is out of whack my doctor advised against it.

i couldn’t hear the surf break against the Mediterranean shoreline for a few moments after prayer silenced. I thought later why don’t they hint whats coming by tapping gently on something in the prayers recording before it starts. Quite the experience though.

You can pick up the monthly prayer schedule at any mosque, it's very accurate to the minute. Then you know when the call is about ring out every day. grin

You're right. Freeing the mind is the first step to freeing the body. Too many people are slaves to their own upbringing and prejudices to the point that they don't see the need of emancipating themselves from mental slavery. It's no wonder though. It's in the interests of the powers that be to keep the sheeple occupied with the mundane and trivialities and in fear of what was always supposed to happen as prophesied by every messenger from Adam to Muhammad.
