This hit me a few minutes ago. I was watching something online about the last Blockbuster Video Store. Isn't it interesting how Blockbuster is gone thanks the popularity of netflix, but Blockbuster never really hurt movie theaters. Think about this for a second. We had theaters, then came Blockbuster, so we had both. Then several years ago netflix got big and Blockbuster is gone. Despite this, we still have and go to sit in movie theaters.
Just something interesting that occurred to me. Interesting? What do you think?

There is one Blockbuster store left in Bend Oregon. And yes they do rentals by mail. There are 2 documentaries on them; they were part of the film studio franchises which "sold" the movies to the stores. There is also one store in Vermont that is similar and good for really hard to find films on either video or CD.
Theatres require the person sitting next to you to remain silent. They offer something that a cosy night in doesn't to unhappy marriages and grimly prospected dates.
What if in near future even movie theaters (May be not multiplexes but small ones) , will go extinct as well !!! Already many distributors started to release their movies online instead of Cinema Halls !!!

well, I go to the cinema about once in 1.5-3 years, mostly small movietheatres. Most movies in the big cinema's are american propaganda for action and violence. If all will be available on Netflix, popcorntv etc. I still won't take an abonnement on it. I don't even get tv-channels anymore. If I am awake I am on the internet, and sometimes when I am in bed and can't sleep I watch a movie on Youtube, or watch some politics from the dutch government.
Fact is that someone from the Christen democrats dicovered there was a big problem with the tax-institution in the Netherlands about ethnic profiling and forcing people to pay back 10.000 - 100.000 euro's by acusing them of frauding without any proof. That someone was Pieter Omzicht (in English Pete) and his own party, the Christen-democrats tried to silence him. The prime-minister was lying and did remember things in a different way or didn't remember things at all. So it is interesting how things will go on, and a lot is to find on youtube.
Most interesting mr Pieter Omzigt told us was that Governments are thinking in models. Even the American government. And sometimes it seems a party has a campaign that is promising the most jobs for the people who are without work, but often the outcome is different. In the Netherlands all politics is based on models and with about 34 parties to choose from during the elections, most people choose for the party that is promising the most jobs. But it's also about how much people earn. If you look basically to the numbers you get bruto in you salarycheck everything seems okay. But if you look further on what you have to pay on taxes, you see the big problems. Someone who is living alone and makes 30.000 dollars a year might have (after paying all his taxes) 15.000 dollars. If a neighbour who has a wife and 2 children gets 40.000 dollars a year he might have 15.100 dollars a year after paying all his taxes. So for three extra persons in his household he gets 100 dollars a year.
