I disagree to a certain extent.Reciprocation may have a positive function in maintaining love.
If we affirm ourselves, or are affirmed by others in acts of love, we experience a reward which stimulates us to continue.
There is perhaps no such thing as true altruism, but that's okay if I feel I am on the right path.
I think you once said of one of my comments over ten years ago that it was disinterested love and very rare. Is it wrong that I was a bit chuffed and felt it was confirmed to be of value?
I've held that concept close, which I would have done anyway, but your affirmation made it even more special.
